Replacing resonator with midpipe or whatever you wanna call it. Took it off within an hour, hasn't been back on since. Recently removed cone filter/MAF adapter. Happy with stock now. Much, much smoother drive, better mileage, more refined sound.

As far as modding goes it's like the rabbit hole how far do you wanna go it's all a learning expierience. ANYTHING CAN be done, but the question you will always run into is, is it worth the money. Can you shoe horn a RB26DETT into a 4thgen? The answer is yes! Is it worth the money for the swap, the SAEM, the rewire, the custom exhaust, the etc. it's a rabbit whole. If you like it, got the money to blow, go for it. It's all about one thing making your ride your own. Whats right for some isn't right for all and whats right for most might not be right for you. All I can say is that after all the sweat, brused knuckels and a broken finger or two, the burns, the oops's, and the ohh duh's... I love my car and It's mine and I'm positive you won't find the exact same car anywhere else.
just my 2 cents

Probably my worst choice was getting crappy foglights.. they look ok but the stock wiring heats up and i'm afraid to light the dash on fire lol.

-I have to say the my tint was totally worth it through, black max needed some windows to match it's paint lol

I would like to know why some of you have regretted doing the LED's in the interior, IE the gauges, window switches, AC controls... I've seen a few pics on here and I thought it looked pretty amazing. I think it certainly updates the look of the car. But then again, I'm a sucker for bright lights and colors. So what gives?

I regret not modding my car when I bought it new 9 years ago. I may be a little late to the party, but have been enjoying it none-the-less.

drilling holes and having to uninstall it, leaving you with holes. i.e. kick panels, pillar, etc.

i added 2 led's from dei alarms to my existing one, (i have 3 led's for my alarm, instead of 1) and now that i am upgrading, the leds are integrated into the antenna. so now, i will have to remove the led's from my pillar, and will have to look at a 7/32 or 1/4" hole on each pillar.

oh well, i can make the best out of it by adding a set of tweeters there. oh wait...even bigger hole...............

3.) drilling a hole in my headliner to wire up my auto dim mirror and radar detector. Ended up tearing the carpet a bit. Mirror and detector work great though...

loving the radar detector...does it really work though? how much can you get one of those for?

I regret putting a stupid *** G35 spoiler on my 5th gen. Did it in the first week I had my car, and started hating it a month after. I have a stock spoiler en route to replace that eyesore.

Most of all, I regret buying a previously modded car. It "looked" cool at the time. The previous owner was a cheap b-tard. And I have replaced EVERY SINGLE MOD. And I have paid, over and over for his cheap, ghetto ways of modding things.

I regret... mods that I never even installed...
I regret... dynamatting everything, 200 lbs later...
I regret... my "custom curb-checked two-tone" spare rim.
I regret... buying equipment from a local store, and any work done by a shop.
I regret... building a 1400 watt sound system, when the 400 watt speakers+amp are sufficient.
I regret... buying an A/C unit off of ebay to replace the fragged stock one. If I turn it above 2, it shuts off.
I regret... the cheap attempts to make things look "better", blue pedals, blue shift ****, blue floor mats, ricer++ I have obviously replaced all of that.
I regret... thinking I could buy a cheap H.O. Alternator with an undersized pulley on ebay. A week later I had a paperweight. And then buying a cheap 200 amp Alt with a regular sized pulley, high-output my ***.
I regret... all the things that I upgraded twice or more, battery, four channel amp, amp wiring, sub amp, subs (audiobahns SUCK!), speakers, deck, shift ****, floor mats. And it turns out I liked the first deck better!

Sure, there are lots of things I wish I hadn't done. And I wasted some $$$. But truthfully, I'll take modding and remodding my car over sitting in front of a TV all day. And I have learned a lot in the process, knowledge which I can apply to my next vehicle.

As for LED interior... I'm guessing you guys fragged a few clusters. I burned off one contact on a switch. I had a spare anyways. I didn't glue the T5 LED's into the pods on my gauge cluster, half of them have come loose, not looking forward to redoing it.

As for people complaining about minor cosmetic issues, a hole in an a-piller, a clock that won't stay on. I can't imagine it would be more then $5 to replace a pillar cover or the clock at a junkyard. I would personally drop the $5 and 20 min over staring at a hole in my a-pillar every day or having a rampant clock.

If there is anything you take out of this.
1. Take time and decide what you want before you buy it. Think about it for a few days. Impulse buying just leads to wasted money. Do your research!
2. Don't buy a previously modded car unless you are SURE it was done right. Even then, don't buy it! It's more exciting doing it yourself. Who wants to show off someone elses work? I wouldn't go around bragging about someone elses kids...
3. Don't pay shops unless you have to, if you don't want to do the work yourself, find a friend or family member who knows what they are doing. I don't know how many times I have paid 5x the price to have a shop screw something up as bad as I would've if I did it myself. Just this last week, I had a shop install a lift kit on my truck, made it 2 miles before the belt ripped a hose open and sprayed antifreeze everywhere... And then I had my mechanic install a new starter because I was too lazy take it off to find out if it was 10 or 11 tooth before buying a new one. (OMG, seriously? That's pretty lazy if I do say so myself!) It shorted out 5 miles from the shop.

I'm running 1400 watts, with no capacitor, no second battery, I crank it constantly, along with the A/C, and I haven't fried anything but my brain.

I second that motion, I didn't cut any holes too big, but I used a razor blade to trim them after I drilled them, I slipped twice on one c-pillar. At least no one is facing it.

LOL, I'm from CO as well... My max wouldn't go in the snow before I dropped it... Yay for Nissan Hardbody's!
Then again, it's not snowing and I'm hating driving my Max this year, how many friggen roads can you put under construction at once man!!!

If you made it through this entire book, you deserve a cookie!!! But, I don't have any, so, you'll have to go without.

I regret... spending over an hour writing a forum post which no one gives two ****s about.
