removing stock muffler tip

removing stock muffler tip

how can I remove the stock muffler tip its on there pretty tight

Spray some grease in there and pull hard. Should slide off after a while. If you're not going to reuse it, just cut it off.

the tip is being held on by rust and/or corrosion. use some penetrating oil like 3-in-1 or auto tranny oil. let it soak in and see if it will come off. you may have to repeat if the corrosion is bad.

i also need to pull my stock cap off and put it on my new pipe because when i bought the car i had to get a new muffler to pass inspection. the shop didnt feel like pulling it off so they just cut it. How can i get it to stay on my new pipe?
