You have many options:
-HIDs (standard or projector retrofit)
-9007 conversion
-OR...you can go the route I'm going (upgraded headlight harnesses and overwattage bulbs).

The route I'm going is fairly cheap. It cost me just over $50, including shipping, for the harnesses and bulbs (from various sources). I installed the harnesses earlier tonight and even that made a small little difference. The real test is when I get the overwattage bulbs tommorrow (80/100w...as opposed to the stock 45/65w).

I would suggest the 3rd option Tatanko mentions - its the safest in terms of being cop-friendly.

The HID kit w/out projectors is just asking for trouble...

Those bulbs are crap. Honestly, I can't even believe you're considering purchasing an APC product. Anyway...

If you're looking to go the same route as me, use these links:

http://www.cardomain.com/item/EUR9004HXC (bulbs)

http://www.sportcompactonly.com/prod...1161&c=134&l=2 (harnesses)

Mention Maxima.org when you order the harnesses and you'll get a discount. Your total should be something like $52.60 shipped for both items from those 2 stores.

Just going with bulbs isn't going to help anything. Not unless you get overwattage bulbs like I am, in which case you need the upgraded harnesses so you don't fry your stock ones.

I installed the harnesses this afternoon in literally less than a minute. Unplug your stock ones, plug the stock ones into the new ones, plug the new ones into the bulb socket.

Those bulbs were extremely cheap. If they're a disappointment, I'll just throw them out. I doubt they'll be ricer blue, either...they're advertised as 3500k.

yea same thing. actually i was the one who gave you that link tatanko. When i asked about the reviews on those. it was like a total of 20$ if they stink. i'll just throw it on ebay and get some other ones. Most the time i would have stuck with stock. But my light output as of now stinks. So anything is a worth it at this moment.

Yeah, I remember. This isn't exactly a large or risky investment, so why not try it? As I posted already in this thread, just adding the harnesses alone I noticed a *tiny* bit of an increase in brightness.

Ok got the bulbs this evening. They are not any brighter than my Silverstars (comparing both with the upgraded harnesses). I like the color, though, because it's not really all that blue. Mostly white with a tiny, tiny hint of blue. Oh well, I guess. The harnesses were worth it, though, I guess.

Those bulbs from Cardomain aren't DOT approved:
(Note: These bulbs are not DOT approved. They are sold for show car or off-road use only. Check local laws before using.)
So I don't think he wants to take the risk of getting pulled over. I heard that Sylvania Xtra Visions are great at light output.

just grab a plug&play kit and its easy as pie. pretty much youre hooking it up to your stock harness which goes to the ballast/ignitor then to your bulbs. plug it in, strap down the ballast and youll be done in 10 minutes.

xtra visions have more output onto the road than silverstars.

Overall I'm disappointed with the bulbs I got. May even throw my silverstars back in. It's weird, because when you look at the beam pattern, there is no "cutoff." Rather than like semi-circles for each beam, it's a full circle. So it APPEARS brighter. In all actuality it isn't any brighter, and due to being a little more blue may even be dimmer Looks HID-ish, though, because it's only got a tiny hint of blue (like 4500k maybe).

Needless to say, silverstars and upgraded harnesses are going to have to do until I can get HIDs for Christmas or something

You mean for an HID setup? There are some going for as cheap as $260 shipped right now as part of a group deal. Check the Group Deal/Sponsors forum.

Ok, finally got pics tonight of what it looks like. Not the greatest quality, but here you go:

Notice how the left headlight is more of a circle than a semi-circle. With both Eurolites in, the right one does the same thing. That picture shows Eurolite on the left, silverstar on the right.

Honestly, I can't remember. I'll have to look. As far as the beam pattern, yeah...it sucks. I'm switching back to the silverstars when I get time. I have to admit, I like the looks of the bulbs...but it's not worth the worsening of my light output. Leaving the harnesses installed, though, they actually helped a little.

HID's in a month or two for me...I need to do what I should have done in the first place, but didn't have money for.

I remember a while back seeing projector headlights for the 4th gen max. I lost the site though. They may possibly be a better alternative to stock. Speaking of those does anyone know what I'm talking about and possibly have a link to that site?

I've got PIAA bulbs in Cefiros... I think that -
1. Cefiros are brighter then stock
2. Bulbs make a huge difference.
I bought some knockoff "Like Silverstar" bulbs. They were brighter then stock. Then bought Silverstars for my fog lights that made my headlights look yellow. Then bought the PIAA bulbs that do the same to my Silverstars. Conclusion - If you want to do a cheap upgrade, by better bulbs. Huge difference.

Yeah you're right, the beam pattern sux but it looks pretty cool how they are a bluish white color.

OEM cefiros have a pretty good beam pattern due to the H4 bulbs.... the best halogen bulb out there really. the smoked aftermarket ones however are garbage.
