reset the CEL and now the light shows o2 sensor readings
just what the title says. i reset it twice. it doesnt have any codes now, but it goes on and off intermitently, depending on how i'm driving, which to me is some sort of test/diag of the o2 sensors operationg properly.(during normal acceleration it blinks equally on and off, during heavy accel it stays on longer than off, during coasting it stays off more than on. any one else experience that? i need to get an inspection and it wont pass with it on, even if there are no codes.

hey man .
actually i have the same problem occuring. The multiple misfire everyone is talking about is very untrue as my car is running excellent. I know this due to being a mechanic and my car being tested with an osciloscope on every cylinder.
I believe it may be a throttle position sensor test maybe?

yeah my car runs great, definately no lack of power, i just drove it over 100 miles and nothing. i havent done a tune up, ill do that and see if it goes away.
btw, the CEL came on because the vapor canister broke in an accident so it was running lean slightly lean. fixed the car, changed the canister, reset the light, and this came up.

Turn car off and take keys out? Last time I reset my CEL, I didn't remove my keys from ignition, started it up and drove it around, and saw it blink (didn't pay attention to pattern though). Took keys out of the ignition and it has been gone since.
Get a haynes manual. They are the truth.

Please help. I have recently changed the O2 Sensor on my 1999 maxima SE Limited. Reset the cel by follwing the instruction provided on this site. The cel Cleared for a week and then back on. Checked CEL codes and get 05 05. 05 05 means undefined or no trouble found. Can someone tell me what is going on. If there are no trouble, why did the cel come on? thanks
