HID retrofit experts, I have a few questions before I begin:

Do you see how the bezel is part of a larger chrome piece? How is it possible to remove this from the larger chrome piece without damaging the edges and keeping the chrome in-tact? This looks impossible unless I plan on losing the nice chrome finish around the edges...

I'm gonna have to try a projector retrofit sometime. I'll be closely following this thread.

I fixed the problem with the e46 having different color output. They are infact the same side. wen they sell it to u from hidplanet. and my right side cutoff was bluer than my left side. so i told them and they said that they receive the projectors in pieces over seas. so wen they assemble them. no two are identical. so to simply push the shield towards the bulb. so i did. and my cuttoff is AWSOME!!! its blue/purple/yellow/etc.... i have 4300k bulbs. its nice. just MAKE SURE. you dont not move the shield way too much. the slightlets bend will make a difference.

I just did a retro from single to dual and I had to move the projector (that's why I commented on the jb weld, it is a pain to get off IF it even comes off.) but it was an e46 bixenon, it is a little bit bigger than single xenon e46, I think the lens on it is 2.75". If anything just redrill then jb weld the holes you had at first.
chances of that fitting are pretty small.. cuase the reflector highbeam's bulb/back portion would not have enough space in he back... it would hit up aganist the point where you would put in the inner screws on teh headlgiht.. and keep in mind you have to keep the two peices at the same angle.. you cant shift them formward of backward.. otherwise they cut each other off....
yours worked cause its some sort of fog light you used and not the fullsized reflector.
I tried rebasing D2S bulbs to 9004 tonight as a temporary fix before I finish my retrofits....dont ever try this...the output completely sucks compared to my hanabi hid kit.
Fellow Maxima.org members, I am WAY late on this trend of retrofitting a maxima with HID ligths. I have been contemplating looking into a way to get HIDs for my car, but just recently realized I was already behind!
I would like to get a set built for my 99 Maxima, but do not think I could do it by myself and not mess up $100 worth of light housing! So I would like to contract someone to build it for me, with me supplying the parts. If anyone knows someone that could do it for me (and not for my arm and leg) let me know. I will pay for the person's labor, and supply whatever parts I need to get the HID set built for my car. If they are on the east coast, I would also possibly drive to their location and let them put them in for me. Someone please help a fellow Maxima lover get his car up to date and looking swift!
