FAST MAXIMA'S WANTED!!! Midwest region

Sometime in the first quarter of 06 here in Indianapolis we are having the second Winged Warrior compition where the fastest street cars will compete. There is a team import and team domestic sides to which they will battle each other. Compitions include 1/2 mile drag, large auto-x and several others. Nothing is set in stone quite yet but all those have a very good chance of going through. Now everyone on my local car site thinks maxima's are slow. Which they are in stock form, but i wanted to shout out to the mid 13 second and LOWER maxima's to come out and play with the big boys. It would be pretty neat seeing some of the turbo/supercharged maxima's competing. I will go ahead and update this as soon as i get more info. If you want/need more info you can post here or PM me.

UPDATE go here for more info. It is being updated daily

So does this mean you have to have a huge aluminum wing bolted to your trunk lid?

Wait is it a real HALF MILE drag like it says in your post or is that a typo (I assume it's a 1/4 mile normal drag). Also can you pick and choose the events you compete in or do you have to do them all... my new maxima goes pretty fast in a straight line but handling is not exactly it's forte' yet lol.

Is there a website for this event? Also knowing the exact date would be good.

what are the details with regards to this. I wouldn't really consider the 4th gen maxima that fast at least not compared to the cars being made nowadays. The handling isn't really anything to brag about so going around a track is kind of pointless IMO.

Seriously, this sounds like the Joliet events they tried a couple years ago and I'd go.

ok here is the deal

#1 no aluminum wings required

#2 Joosdawg, i will get in contact with you very soon

#3 I posted this here because NO ONE visits the regional forums. I want people to see this. So if the mods could please leave this here i would greatly appreciate it.

#4 No typo, half mile drag. This is at an airport so there is PLENTY of space. Noting is set in stone but this event wont disappoint.

#5 "fast" maxima's.. i mean at least 13 second ones. There are two captains (team import vs team domestic) and THEY choose who they want on their team. Everyone is welcome i believe it was like it was last time and for a local childrens hospital.

Wow a half mile drag, I'm definately gonna go just for that if my car is running. My car could get a pretty good head of steam going in a half mile.

Bejay haha you are right we should do that it would be awesome. Pull a little switcheroo between rounds.

Is there a website for this event? I want to know more.

That should result in some interesting trap speeds.

Are there any NA classes, or is everyone bunched up together?

Oh BTW, most of the guys with the faster maximas don't check this forum that often because it's mostly filled with the typical boring noob stuff like neato headlights and body kits and what not, so you might want to considering putting it in the regoinal forum or if the mods will allow it, in the NA and FI forums.

I'll start letting some guys know about this event so keep us updated, preferably in a place where the thread is easily findable (like the upper midwest forum, since there's not many threads in there). 1/2 mile drag race sounds fun. I've heard of full mile drag races before but never around here, always down in texas.

Im in, by the time this comes around I should be in the 11's. Neal maybe you should get ahold of me on aim (boostchilled).

I think a race between us would be interesting seeing as the original fabricator of your current setup worked with me on a revised setup for mine.

I would love to run a 1/2 mile. If this is for real, and not just a bunch of talk I could make plans to be there. But for some reason I don't think it will happen

Isn't this event annual, or am I thinking of something else? I recall hearing something about a 1/2m drag event in Indianapolis about a year ago.

No more 1/2 mile drag? Dang. Too bad. I would have gone just for that. Looking at the setup now though, I bet my black car would have gotten a better *overall* score than my turbo car could lol.

I'm dying to try both now...

it says drag. So the 1/2 mile thing may not be gone. But it is a huge liability so i'll keep bumping this when new info comes.
