sti = 4wd fun! weeeee! idk much about either car but 4wd sounds like fun!
g35 = i think nicer than the sti... infinity = nissan and besides scoobies aren't at all eye candy imo. i go for my car's looks and performance, and i like nissan quality (except for the damn knock sensors! ). i'd go with the g35. PEEYUMP DAT SHEEYT!

i would also say go for G35. STi would be fun, but insurance would probably be crazy, depending on your record. Although, if you were planning on putting money into the car, STi would probably be the first choice. Those things can be such a beast!!

Just curious, have you checked the insurance on any of these cars?
Thats something that always needs to be considered when getting a new car.

actually i have..the G35 is prolly my best bet! if i get the STI i might lookin at almost $500 for car payment wit insurance every month, ouch. and the 5th gen max is a lil less than the G35..and my dad wants me to put them under his name so it be a lil cheaper i guess! but i dunno..

apples and oranges. i'd probably take the g35 because i do tons of highway driving and it is more comfortable... but the sti is probably more fun to get speeding tickets in!

lol, I just posted a post a few days ago exactly like this one. I was looking for either a G35 or R32. I would say G35 seeing its still a VQ motor, a lot stronger than the max you have and would be a lot lower maintenance than the STI. STI = 4 wheel drive, turbo fun, but RWD is a lot better IMO. The STI is probably quicker stock than the g35, but if you mod the g35 at all, there is no replacement for displacement and the G35 would womp all over that STI. G35 is a little small, I am 6"2 and for some reason I could not find a position in the seat where my head wouldn't rub the ceiling, which I was really not happy about. It really depends on your needs, how much room you need for things and or people, and if you like the looks of a 4 door or 2 door. A 5th Generation Max would save you a lot of money on the price of the cars and insurance, be a huge upgrade from the 4th gen 180hp to 255hp, and be a great choice also. It really is up to you, I know this decision thing is hard cause I am going through the same thing! Good luck man.... later

Another thing to consider, isn't the G35 a two door? It maybe inconveinent if you carry more than one passenger a time.

I'd be happy with G35 or STi ... I have ridden in an STI and damn. they are quick... plastered to your seat fast... and they handle so nice... and you can actually bring along a few wittnesses... I have never ridden in a G35 but I have raced one in my max and it whipped my ***... I have sat in a G35 (at dealership drooling). I say for the money G35 is better... but if you can afford it... STi

Sti drives like a brick in the wind at 260 km/hr. I dunno know about the g35 coupe. I do know that the g35 is the first mass produced car in the world to use aerodynamic tuning on the underside. I read that in a road and track or something. Goodluck and let us know.

I've been in a G35 sedan and a WRX. Not what your looking at but comparing both those cars. The G35 has like everything over a scooby. And like some people who buy brand new cars they rather not mod right away because of the warranty on the car, or they just cant afford mods and car payments at the same time. The G35 is a great feeling car with a lot of power compared to a 4th gen. They are becoming quite common on the streets now tho.

I'd get the G35 hands down. Its classier looking and the Infinity name supersedes Subaru any day. G35 is still fun to drive and has plenty of power to boot. Plus every kid out there has a Subaru (STI or WRX) and in my opinion they've gotten played out very quickly. Insurance-wise 4 wheel drive vehicles are always more expensive to insure and even if its going to be insured under your father's name, it still will cost alot more. And my personal thing is that I think that the G35 exhaust sounds a lot more meaner than the Subaru's. Subarus sound like go carts. That's just my honest opinion.

STi would be fun as a weekend car, if this is going to be your daily driver I'm sure you'll get tired of it pretty soon.

G35 takes it for me. Comfort and speed, not much less power than the STi.

P.S. - How did the name scoobie come about for subarus?

Another vote for the G35. Depending on the color and trim level, I think it's one of the best looking cars on the road under $100k.

Only other comment is a recommendation to get a manual trans. I drove the g35 sedan with the 5-speed auto, and really didn't like it. Long time to downshift, and with as much power as that car has it was like driving with a huge turbo that takes time to spool up.

...and if you're on the lot and see a red g35 with the Ray's wheel and no spoiler, put down a few $ to hold it for me.

If you plan to mod anytime soon, get the 5th gen 2003 please. It's alright living with the folks and not having to pay rent (not sure if you are) but a high car payment is bear when you are on your own. You'll go with you heart so it doesn't matter.

Drive factor:Boost+all wheel drive> g35> 5th gen.

Money factor: 5th gen> high car payment g35> out of this world car payment and maintenance sti

Money left in pocket factor: Boosted 5th gen$$> g35 modded> STI stock

At the end of the day all cars end up at the junkyard.

Those cars are gonna get boring soon. I used to want one but everyone is getting them now. My street only has about 20 houses and there are 3. I'd probably get the Maxima out of those choices I guess. I wouldn't get the STI because the ride isn't all that good and the G35 because it is getting played out.

Ever fk'ing asian kid in LA has either an STI or WRX or an EVO. On the way to work every morning, there's a WRX that I would always see driving the same direction as me. I am tired of looking at these things. And they are looking uglier and uglier to me. Same thing with the Evo. There's this kid that live in the same condo complex as me and everyday he's out there with his camera taking pix of his car. He's probably in some subaru org. G35s will never get played out to me, its a classier car only appreciated by certain people. Sad to say, my next car won't be a car, it'll have to be a pickup truck. It's a necessity for me to get a truck and I can't keep my Maxima because I won't have a place to park it in my complex. As much as I want a G35, I'll have to pass on it.

G35, 6-speed, if you can afford it.

2003 Maxima, loaded, 6-speed, otherwise.
