too fast start and another starter question

okay...some of you might not think this is a problem..but...

my car only takes one or two cranks to start...it has no mods other than a ypipe and a cattman axleback.

well since my car starts so fast...most ppl who start it(my parents every morning) seem to think as if it requires more cranks to start.

and in doing so...it has ruined my starter (noise)

anyways...can anyone give me a reason why my car is starting so fast and easily..or should i just explain to everyone who drives my car that it only requires one crank or it will make the starter noise?

question number two!

i went on motorvate and followed the instructions about the starter noise...

anyways...i get to the point where my starter opens up and LO AND BEHOLD...

its not the same kinda starter...what gives?it doesnt have the gears like his does...

inside the starter:

it was a bunch of magnets and it was filled with this black soot-like material..

well...i took some wire brush and cleaned out most of the "soot"

then i got some lithium grease and greased up the larger groups of magnets(there was two groups: larger and smaller.)

well...the grease took care of the problem...til two days later...its at it again..the day i realize that my starter starts too fast.

since it only takes one crank....they're turning it too long...

i just realize that letting it turn once will cure my noise problem!

DONT LET THEM DRIVE IT!

or have a lengthy talk with them about it, or get a weak battery

well the thing is...we have three cars..and a two car garage...they work nights...so they have to move my car out of the way every morning...talking to them doesnt help because its like they're opposed to everything automotive(these are people i'd have to convince just to get a tranny fluid change.)

so a weak battery would help???wouldnt my alternator charge it??and how would it affect everything else?

Question 1 - Shouldn't really have that bad of an impact on your starter. The gears can free spin with the engine, it doesn't sound good, but no damage is happening.

Question 2 - You didn't open up the bendix and reduction gear section of your starter, you only have the actual motor section open. You need to get to the gears, clean them up and regrease them. I don't think you should have greased up the magnets.

question one: imagine that happening everyday.

question two:well is the bendix and reduction gear inside the magnets? The magnets are behaving just fine, actually the starts are much better. I think it was just the gross amount of soot inside the starter causing hard starts.

honestly that magnet thing was the only part i saw, i took off the clip and under it was seriously nothing bt magnets.

here's a quote from the autozone repair guide:

Maximas use a gear reduction starter which has a set of ratio reduction gears; the brushes on the gear reduction starter are located on a plate behind the starter drive housing. The extra gears make the starter pinion gear turn at about 1/2 the speed of the starter, giving the starter twice the turning power of a conventional starter.

I noticed my car starts ALOT quicker than my parents' cars, and their cars are new.

Do not let them drive the car. They could ruin your starter my holding the key in the start position for too long.
