You have to either use a device or using screw driver to turn it but I forget how many seconds and which direction and cr@p... I don't feel like looking in my haynes so you should go buy one or read the stickies.
Disconnecting battery will not reset your ECU, just like how the memory in your USB memory stick doesn't go away after removing it from your computer.

I must not be getting through here, i don't want to reset my check engine light i want to reset my ecu, where in the stickies tell how to do that?? There is a difference between the engine light and the ecu. Can't someone just tell me instead of referring me to go find it myself when i don't see it there???

In nissan performance mag they say:
All Nissans have a MAF (Mass Air Flow) monitoring fuel injection system, and they can accept modification to the air intake system with no tuning changes. These types of fuel injection systems measure the amount of air coming into the engine so the engine control computer knows how much fuel to inject for a proper mixture. If the intake system causes more air to be induced, then no problem, the ECU compensates. On our cars, it may help to disconnect the battery for a few minutes to reset the self-learning function of the ECU so the ECU can relearn the new mixture required. It may take a little driving for the engine's ECU to adjust to the intake so you can get all of the power possible out of them. Generally the engine will run better and better for the first 20 or so minutes of engine operation after installing the intake.

Get a nissan data scan software and the data link connector, from www.blazt.biz, this works for my car......getting code and monitor engine component, and more to it.
