Exhaust system

Hi everyone...my car will sooon be in need of an exhaust system. Its all stock and want to install a quality and low-cost one with some performance increase but not annoyingly loud. The Cattman system seems to be really good, but really alot of $. Also I was thinking of an aftermarket Y pipe and stock catback exhaust. Thanks for your input.

a lot of ppl will tell you even with a high end exhaust system. There is only a few ponies you can get out of it if you N/A. Unless your system is rusted like mines, i would say just get a y-pipe and leave everything the way it is.

My exhuast on the other hand is rusted and already makes a groaning noise, what i'm going to do is mainly just look at how the b-pipe of my car is looking and determine if i should just go with a whole cat-back and put in my dynomax muffler. Or just put in my muffler with my existing cat-back. either way i was quoted for bout $200 for the whole install.

Don't get headers (expen$ive), no Cat Converter (unless your old stock one is defective) and DO get a y-pipe.

since you live in massachusetts i would recommend a stainless steel system, if they use salt on the raods, to avoid rust problems with aluminzed steel. its going to cost a little extra but will last longer in those type of climates. if you want something cost effective, go with a budget SS Ypipe. for best quality but high price, go with the cattman pipe. you really get what you pay for in cases like this, ie: fitment, welding, and bends. i would definitely read the maxmods website to get a better idea about all the ypipes and catbacks on the market for our cars. for a quiet stock like sound, just go with a ypipe and stock exhaust or go custom 2.5" piping with stock muffler.

Yeah fellas.......definitely a stainless exhaust, nothing but. I see alot of Orgers go with the Budget product....I'm thinking ya sorta get what you pay for as well. I wonder what kind of performance gain and sound would yield from an aftermarket Y pipe (as in a cattman) and stock from the cat converter back.....

Budget y-pipe and b-pipe. Keep the rest stock. Cheap and efficient IMO.

yea if you change the bpipe youll get a little bit more better flow since less bends in it. if you want to change the stock muffler, its a matter of prefference since you will get a different tone out of it but not too many horses. the ypipe is a must

metal_god when you say you need an exhaust system soon. what makes you say that? Is it just personal preference or is there a problem with your system?

You'll quickly discover that the Y-pipe is the biggest and best performance bang for your buck, start there. I have a budget
