Clock LED goes dim

Clock LED goes dim
First off, this is my first new thread posting and I'd just like to say hello and it's great to be a part of this forum, it's great.
The clock LED in my '99 sel goes dim when I turn on the parking or headlights. The other LED's (climate control and bose) remain at normal brightness.
Is this normal or is something goofy with the electrical system.

its normal n its not an led its an lcd display..if you want it to stop you gotta cut the dimming wire from the harness i think its blue with a red tracer...i can be wrong check the how tos
I always confuse the two.
