Cold morning start problems
we have a 98 maxima SE with 99k miles.
It just recently started having problems.
Upon firing up the car, it first right up, but the RPMs drop immediately and dies, but sometimes catches itself. Pumping the gas usually fixes the problem.
Not sure, but could it be due to a dirty throttle body?
also, there is a slight humming noise coming from the valve cover, not exactly sure what it is, but it sure isn't normal.
any help would be great guys, I wanted to search first, but the search function wouldn't let me
Thanks

Clean your throttle body (if gunked up, the idle air flow is not making it through to sustain idle rpms). 2nd, normally, rpms on a cold car is higher than normal...like 2k rpms. If it is not hitting that initially, consider swapping out the ECTS.

alright, well i just got done cleaning the aiv valve and throttle body. they were pretty gunked up.
I started the car, and it idled right around 7-800 rpms perfectly. Gonna run errands with it today, and the real test will be tomorrow morning
thanks guys
