For a few months I have been having a "turbine" like noise coming from the general vicintiy of the belts (sounds like Alt.). Anyways, I have noticed in that last few days when the heater is running full blast the intensity varies with RPM. As I accelerate it gets stronger. Same goes for lights, the get brighter with more RPM. Does this sound like the ALT is going bad? Or is this normal operation?

 

I have a 98 mine does that normally but if it is a really BIG differance in your lights then it could be your alt

 

Yes it does. Not sure what the recall was for but i just had the alt recall done on my '97. Check to see if your car has had it done.
