You will get firmer braking, and better stopping power

Its worth is, as long as you like good braking.

performance pads and new brake fluid would be a better buy if you dont already have them.

And remember, your stock lines are probably all soft and squishy. You've probably allready got over 80k on them and that is probably past their life exptancy.

stainless steel lines, + good pads (OEM, Axiess, Raybestos QS, Akebono, etc.) + Brembo blank (i.e. just plain rotors) + fluid flush will give you good braking performance.

Be sure to clean the caliper pins and work carefully when to to the brake job. Sloppy work will result in squeals, squishy pedal feel and overall poor braking performance.

Make sure you inspect the parking brake mechanism/cables and adjust as needed. 8-10 clicks of the lever should hold your car firmly on a slope.

but i heard of quite a few people who have had these lines pop off on them.

I've know a 5th gen maxima owner who had to use his hand brake because the lines poped off and the pedal went down.

thiis being the only reason i have not had the installed yet.

I have not yet taken the plunge on this yet either (I have similar concerns). I am likely going to be due for brakes (all around) this summer. At that time I'll decide to either go the stainless steel route or just OEM replacements. Even new lines from Nissan should result in an improvement over the performance of my current 11-yr old rubber lines

You have to factor in installation error and also consider the number of success cases too. If this was a real flaw, the retailers/vendors would be in hot water (IMHO).

Who knows if the people who had failures over-tightend, under-tightened, etc.

Put in performance pad first. The improvement with the pad maybe enough for you, then you don't need to put in stainless steel brake lines. I did not notice much difference when I replaced stock with stainless steel. But I noticed a big improvement with Raybestos QS pad (was using Nissan pad).

From what I read I heard Stainless Steel brake lines work really well if you do autocross or like to ride the brake. This is b/c the rubber doesn't work well with heat and you don't get the consistant braking under excessive braking. The SS allow for consisting braking under excessive braking. IMO I would just replace the old rubber brake line with new rubber brake lines.
