I think if you unplug your battery for a two hours, the computer will reset itself.

It's easy

The ECU is located down in the center of the dash next to the gas pedal. Turn the key to the on position, but do not start the engine. Pop off the plastic panel just to the right of the gas pedal, it has two fasteners. That silver metal box is the ECU. There is a screw with a sticker over it that says something to the effect of "dont **** with this screw", this is the screw you will **** with. Turn the screw all the way clockwise for 2-3 seconds and then turn it all the way counter clockwise and your Check Engine light will begin to flash out the error codes. Turn the screw all the way clockwise and back two more times, waiting about 2-3 seconds at each end of its travel and the light will be reset. This worked for me.

Please elaborate on the MSD ignition you intend to install.

In most cases there is no need to reset the computer after installing a modification.

Detailed instructions for doing a Diagnostic Trouble Code readout and a computer reset are in the Chilton and Haynes manuals. You will also find that information on Steve Cutchen's excellent MaxFAQs page: http://web2.airmail.net/scutchen/max_faq/
