loud belt need help

does anyone else have this problem when they start their car in the morning, well im in fl and it always kind of humid in the morning or at least a lot of moisture in the air and dew on the cars, and damn ever since i've gotten down here my damn belt is squeaxky as hell i think its the serphantine belt, its on rght side it really light annoing high pitch squeal but it disspears after highways driving for about 25 mins but damn its annoying it sound like a dirve a POS, but the car runs fine, and i did try belt dressing and the noise just gets louder so that didn't help, it actually after using belt dressing one time the noise persisted for a whole week even after the car was warmed up, any help would be much appreciated

i really don't want to replace it, i woner what a shop would charge??

A shop will probably charge about $50 for labor and parts, try to tighten it.

If you can tighten it, you can replace it - the process is exactly the same. The Haynes manual covers the tighetening/replacement.

Take it to a shop because it's never been done nor posted on maxima.org, so we have no experience with it.

noise when idling

my maxima has a high pitched noise when idling.
i'm still trying to figure out if it's a belt. it sounds more metallic to me and only happens AFTER the car warms up.

If you already had it replaced and it continues to make the same noise, they probably didn't tighten it down enough. A new belt should know squeek or sound like a real fast bird chirping.

Its probably the idler pulley or belt tensioner pulley like me. The bearings are shot.
