GLE missing wood dash?

I've recently purchased a 1999 Nissan Maxima GLE. Super Black with Charcoal leather. Real sharp car got a good price. However I noticed either a flaw in the '99 Maxima Catalog or a flaw in the production of my vehicle.
On page 7 of the catalog the wood-toned dash continues over the radio unit. It covers over the automatic tempature control and digital clock. On my vehicle the trim stops over the radio unit and the rest of the dash in covered in "black-trim"..
If the other two wood-dash pieces are available through Nissan how do I go about ordering them? Or if they don't exist I'd like to know also. Wondering if you Maxima fans can help me?
Cheers!

I got the Same Problem
My '99 GLE (Sunlit Sand) came with the same thing. I was going to go to the Nissan dealer where I bought it and tell them to put those pieces on because it the brochure those pieces are supposed to be standard on the GLE. The reason I didn't go was because I thought it was only my model. thanks for reassuring me. I think I'll pay a visit to my dealership and tell them what they're going to do.

here's what you need...
It's not a full wood trim kit, just fills in the pieces missing from the factory wood.

In the '95s, the wood trim does actually stop at the radio. Supposedly, Nissan printed the 1999 brochure with the wood trim extending past the radio, but then didn't implement it into the car. Does anyone actually have the OEM wood trim that goes past the radio?

Yeah, I've got the same deal...96 GLE with the wood trim ending around the radio. So are they supposed to come standard with the wood trim around the rest of the items there???

You guys crack me up!
I love how you call that cheap, plastic excuse for the real thing, wood! It's fake! It's not wood. Nor does it even look like wood. I too have a GLE. One of the first things I did was order an aftermarket wood kit. I solved both problems, I got rid of the fake crap and I now have pieces around the electronic climate control and clock.

Fake wood crap? And you think those aftermarket-wood stickers are REAL? Not! This isn't the Q45.
I'm not looking for the those aftermarket wood stickers from the web or ebay! My original post stated looking for the two pieces that were published in the catalog.
If you notice on Page 9 of the '99 catalog the digital clock has one wood-tone piece over it. However in every aftermarket wood kid they provide two? Has anyone noticed this but me?
Looking for genuine parts!
Cheers!

Does anyone have an OEM list through Nissan for those 99 GLE parts? Or does anyone have a contact for the people who design the cars? Please advise? Maybe an 800 number to call?
DJL!
Also if anyone has the 1995-1998 Maxima Catalogs check the page with the interior console to see if the wood does go to the top? However I think 99 was the special year.

Re: Re: You guys crack me up!
punabuds, actually you are wrong - the aftermarket wood kits are real wood. but anyway, yes, i know and understand your original post. that is wrong to show one thing in the catologue but then sell another. i just found it funny that you guys were all calling wood when it's some of the cheapest attempt at wood I've ever seen.
but i think i can tell you that nissan does not make their "wood" pieces for the clock and climate control area. before i got my REAL wood kit, i had to replace all the fake wood with gxe/se black plastic because you can still slightly see past the new wood overlays. well, i went item by item with the parts guy and saw the pictures on screen and there is only black available for the clock and auto. climate control.
hope that helps.

Does the 99 GLE and 99 I30 have the same tempature control panel? If so does someone have the part number for the I30 panel. Just hope the factory I30 wood-tone matches the GLE.
I know the window switch bezels are really close.
Cheers!
