OK, so i bought an I 30 auto dimming mirror off Jepht20 the other day and decided to install that and my led dome light that i bought off Metal Maxima yesterday. Everything went fine until it got to dark so i called it quits and left my car all in peices last night. Today i finished off the install and the led dome light is working wonderfully, and the I 30 auto dimming mirror seems to be working fine also, but upon further inspection of my car i realized that my switches on the drivers side door no longer controlled the other windows, and then tried the other window switches and they didn't do anything either. I then checked all the fuses that it could have been, although i didn't really think it was a fuse problem, and they were all fine. Now that i have searched window problems and tried to find my chiltons book and couldn't find it I am hoping that some one on the .Org may have had a problem like this and can help me out.

did you recently do door switch leds too?? where did you get your power from?

just got your pm now, that's why i haven't responded. i never actually installed it in my car because i bought a broadway mirror instead.

 

No i haven't done led's in the switches yet but i do plan on it and i really didn't go into the door. I wired the wires for the mirror up to the dimming switch control like the post that i read said to, and the got the power for the mirror from my cigarette lighter, so that it will only come on when the ignition is turned on. The closest i came to the door was running my wires behind the dash from my a-pillar and the across under the steering wheel. I did have a problem like this when i put in my chrome door handles but that was because i had forgot to plug the other window control plugs back into the master switch on the drivers door

 

Have you accidentally pressed the "window lock-out" button on the drivers side... thats my bet

 

and we have the answer to my problem. sometime the hardest problems have the simpleest answers. I just came in from my car to look at the thread and write that I was an idiot and overlooked the most probable cause but someone else already stated it (only in a much nicer way) thank you njmodi. I should have checked this first but just didn't think of it my problems are solved and now i can start thinking of my next mod. Thank you all that tried to help and thank you for thinking of an obvious solution njmodi.
