Ects

Does anyone know if the battery has to be disconnected to replace the etcs? Will the cel go off once i replace the bad part or do i need to reset it? Thanks.

It may go off. You should reset it. You SHOULD always disconnect the battery when you work with anything electronic. Must you? Probably not. Should you? yes

Thanks.. The only codes i had were for the knock sensor and ects which i know the ks code doesnt trigger the cel. I did the ks last night andill do the ects tonight. Does a bad ects make the engine perform bad? I assume it does. So far the KS has helped a lot in low end livelyness and has made an improvment. It also seems to have taken away the rough idle.
