Guess what? Illuminas are the shiz

Had some used Illuminas sitting in my room for a couple of weeks now. Today was a nice, warm sunny day so I decided to install them. So far I got the front done and I am about to start the rear. I took the car for a test drive and it is almost a night and day difference. Comming from the KYB GR-2's, my ride was stiff, I did not think it would be this big of a difference. Reminds me of riding in the G35 but my car still has some rattles . Right now the settings are on 3. Now which one is stiffer; 1 or 5?

I am riding on Progress springs. I got the Illuminas for 260shipped and they have about 5k miles on them.

I'm so jealous.. I need some Illuminas

Do you have air-tools or you doing this by just using hand-tools?

I know you bought an electric impact (that didn't work too well IIRC).

All hand tools. Trying to figure out how to use Bens rear strut mounts now

About an hour for the front and I am doing the rear right now. I would be done but I dont know what order the bushings and plates go in on these new rear strut mounts.

good luck with the rest of the install.

I was surprised when I did my suspension install, that Hand tools was all I needed. My 3' brake bar made the whole task very easy. I used my electric impact wrench for the spring compressors.

How'd you strip the threads?

anti-seize is your friend. Espeically if you may have to go back in to do some tweaks and adjustments before getting an alignment

I love my illuminas and H&R's. I could swear it's smoother than stock. Good luck with the rest of the install.

I bought um used and I just saw that the threads were messed up. I didnt do it.

Its all good now. Ride is much better. I have this one annoying rattle that I need to fix and the Max will be nice to ride in for a change.

I thought I was done with my suspension. I kept telling myself the AGXs are stiff, but I will deal with them. Forget it, I am going to put some Illuminas in there soon.....
