I didnt buy them for the purpose of racing just street driving. I read up on corner balance and figured out it the amount of weight each wheel carries. About how much does it cost to get a car corner balanced? This also results in us having to have another alignment correct? Would this have any affect on my steering wheel causing it from coming back straight after making a turn?

If you take it to a shop that does corner balancing they will be able to allign the car as well.
It's costin me right around 170 for an allignment, setting the height, and corner balancing....

Thanks guys I actually learned something. I just put the coils on. Never knew that it could affect my handling. Dont guess I will be doing it anytime soon until my alignment off again since I have already had 2 alignments.

So if I tell them I want my car lowered 2.5" they will lower it or raise it to that spec? Then weigh it out? But I still dont understand how they corner balance it. What is adjusted the preload on the spring or something different?

But back on topic if I install these traction bars will my handling increase or is it just wheelhop eliminated? All my suspension parts have 213K on them so I am expecting them to be pretty worn. I know someone said the traction bars will possible pull the car back into geometry.

I really don't believe the traction bars change handling whatsoever. If your bushings are really worn you should get new (Energy Suspension) bushings.

Traction bars mainly help to keep the wheels planted... Now doing so almost completely elliminates wheel hop etc... BUT traction bars also will help when in the twisties as well....

Wheel hop was only a problem I had when I was first getting used to driving the car. I only peel out nowadays when it calls for it, or just pull away like a normal human being, lol. Once I learned the clutch and its G-spot, wheel hop became the past. IDK, maybe its different for people who have forced induction, but I doubt that should be the case. This is a good point, but I also wheel hop halfway through 1st gear after Ive already let out the clutch (4-5k area). Im hoping these will eliminate that as well. Gotta love the torque

Yep. Fastenal just called about an hour ago. Said I will receive the fillets through UPS on Monday. Since they were calling today I asked if I could just drive right up there this afternoon and pick them up myself but he said they're not available yet.

i think by the time i read through all 6 pages of this, the last two spots filled up anyway, i plan on ordering for the next batch. i would love to hear some feedback from some people first, though. but good work on getting all this together. it really sounds like it should help out quite a bit. definitely worth the price!

I just received my traction bars. Took 15 days to get here thanks to customs, I suppose. Thanks JClaw. They look good. I won't be installing them for a little while since I'm very busy and my VQ needs to be put back together first.

One question: in the instructions it sounds like the standard Nissan oil filter won't work? I have to find a shorter Nissan oil filter? I don't recall anyone mentioning that before.

Here's the update. I finally received the nuts. I got most of the tow hook brackets done as of now, and getting the tubes done tonight.

However, I'm still waiting on the rod ends. The plan was to ship all 18 sets tomorrow but that will depend on when I actually receive the rod ends. Everything else will be ready though.

I believe that was a misconception on the length of the filters by yours truly. Sorry.

OK, well there is info in the other thread about adding washers and/or bending the rod? Would a propane torch heat it up enough to bend or do I need something more serious?

Honestly I would not bother heating/bending anything. Just adding washers between the tow hook bracket and the rad support will work just fine. The idea is to move the bar toward the exterior.

The reason this is car specific is that nobody has the same front tires/wheels. Someone with 275's up front on 19's isn't going to have his set the same way as someone with 215's on stock sawblades.

The actual shipping isn't that long, but often the packages will spend a ridiculous amount of time at the border. I wish I lived about 2000 miles south, it would be so much easier. We even got snow 2 days ago and it's 35 degrees outside right now.

I'm hoping that this would come with a write-up because I personally do not know how everything will go in. I'm still going to try installing them myself so a parts list would be great.
