UR Lightened FlightWheel and SPEC Stage 2 Clutch kit w/ Kevlar disk

Big difference the moment i picked her up from the shop...although:

Eventhough It hasn't even been 200 miles since it was changed, maybe ....i repeat maybe after the brake-in period things turn around but so far:

- clutch if softy (little to non pressure on the pedal to depress it)
- on pedal it starts grabbing VERY LOW, like 1" when traveling back from floor (it used to be higher than that).
- Chatter, to the point i have to rev-up to 1000-1500 (my idle is 700 steady like a rock) to brake inertia smoothly or it will jerk and die on me. No I am not learning how to drive 5spd now... lol.

Anyways... is that normal ? I wanted to "as usual" share feelings and listen to the other part of the family opinions.

Why are you using a spec stage 2? I don't know a lot about clutches, but if your car isnt heavily modified and makes roughly stock power, I would think that friction disk is much more then what is designed for our cars... and without that extra low end torque, it's going to engage much more easily with that added friction (i.e. requiring you to rev higher.)

Just a thought, and have you bled, or did the shop "claim" to bleed the clutch from both bleeders when they changed it?

I'll be changing my clutch very soon (tax return money,) but I'm going for 5th gen OEM.

More revs are common for a lightend flywheel. It's easier to bog with a lightend flyhweel as well. You do have to kinda adjust your driving style a bit with one. It took me a bit to get used to my findanza flywheel, 1500 rpm is about what I use to get the car moving.

Good luck driving in the snow. And pity the passengers.

As for 'grab', a stock clutch can make the tires spin too, but that doesn't mean you're faster. IMO a more stock clutch (5th gen, stage 1) with lightened flywheel would have been a much better combination.

She did just fine on the last 24" of snow we got up here...Its something about the 5spd that i find more confortable in snow than an automatic.

How much did you shell out on your UR flywheel, if you don't mind? Did it come with CPS ring? My Fidanza and Spec Stage 1 still vibrate at idle to beat the band.... looking at alternatives
