Cross drilled slotted rotors

What are the best cross drilled and slotted brake rotors for the money? I was thinking about brembo because of there quality, i don't want rotors that are going to get all rusty right away if possible. There are tons of them on ebay. Any suggestions or experiences??

Well, what are you looking for? Performance or show? Also I hear that they wear out your brake pads unevenly.

I want something that will break better than stock with out spending money on a big brake upgrade. Pretty much oem quality with better looks.

if you get any kind of rotor upgrade, I would say to get slotted, not drilled or drilled and slotted. Drilled rotors, no matter who they are made by, tend to crack from stress depending on the type of driving that you do and the climate that you are in. Slotted still have an advantage over flat rotors because they let hot gases escape, and clean dirt away. The only draw back is that they aren't as good at cooling, but are still superior to stock. Unless you auto-x or frequently drive down mountains, I don't think it's even worth it. Maximas have all wheel disk, they're stop if you really want them to. At least mine will

Since the rotor will be the same size, you won't improve your braking over OEM. Big brake kits work by one principle: bigger brake = cooler temps. Changing the rotors doesn't do that.

If you want to improve your braking, buy better tires. Even the stock brakes are easily capable of reaching the limits of the tires.

If you must change something inside the rim, switch to a better pad and bleed your brakes out with a good DOT 4 fluid. Special rotors are rice - worthless wastes of money at this point.

Cross drilled or slotted rotors add considerable noise to your ride. Don't believe all the poop you hear about cross drilled rotors cracking. If you use them in normal driving, they'll last for years. I have used Stillen's version for years and finally removed them due to the noise issue....makes the car sound like a 4 wheel drive pickup when braking...fairly loud. If you happen to go with Stillen, I would not use their pads...they always needed a warm up before working well. Porterfields worked great for me. After going back to stock rotors and pads, I am convinced they are the only way to go for my daily driver...very quiet and very smooth...easy to modulate in traffic.

I have said it in another thread I have CDS rotors zinc coated first with metallic pads then ceramic. They are almost two years old and show no signs of age, very nice combo with ceramic pads, the metallic were crap on the CDS rotors. They were $120 for rotors and 80 for the F and R axxis ceramic they stop good, better than stock by far. The sock setup is horrible in my opinion.

I like drilled and slotted

I put drilled and slotted Brembos on my 95 a year ago. They do have a bit of noise but they grab faster. Overall braking is probably no better than undrilled rotors or unslotted, but that is certainly dependant upon the pads and more so the tires.

I bought the drilled and slotted off EBAY for a couple reasons. The rotors were Brembo's which by default has a very good reputation. The rotors were the seconds ceapest I could find. After a year I have no regrets. Maybe they will be a bit harder on pads, I don't know yet.

A good bleed is just as important. That might even add to the faster grab.

brembos slotted. Don't waist your time on cross-drilled. Ive seen under normal usage drilled cracked. Heat is the key factor. I have slotted ones, Been on the car for 2 years now, pad level is about med. I beat the hell out of them, no problems at all. My friends cross-drilled on for less than a year already cracked and replaced.

I have CDS rotors with axxis ultimates, no noise at all, just as quiet as with solid rotors and oem pads, no difference other than better cooling and braking. Had mine for about two years still look very good, zinc coated. If I were to have to get another set I would get the zinc coated with the center painted(comes in many colors). Usually even with the coating this is where they will rust the most and looks good as an accent. Mine does not sound like a 4x4....no noise at all and would buy them again if needed.

here is the deal, over time the car age. when that happen expect parts to wear. expect to get brake fade with you oe brakes. i replaced my oe with stillen cross drilled rotors along with stainless steel braided brake line. much better than oe. they are three years old and no problems out of them. you will feel them bite better in wet weather. oh and why did i replace the oe brakes, because once the oe brakes wear the car will not stop the same. the result 9800 dollas in damage. but she much better now!

Several new cars have drilled Brembos rotors as OEM but I haven't notices any slotted. Slots are usually done by independent shops as 2nd operation on OEM drilled Brembos. IMHO drilled but no slots are the way to go.

$$$$100$$$$
!!!ALL FOUR!!!
Can't go wrong.

Got mine a year ago. NO RUST!!!
If you want to be safe. Just get rust resistant spray paint and spray the one's you buy before installing. It will look good too.

Can't get the picture up here for some reason, if you want to see mine I can show you.

On my automatic I put on some Brembo Slotted/Dimpled rotors with some Axxis pads. Great stopping power.

My 5spd is gonna need a desperate upgrade here. I took my car through The Dragon 2 weeks ago. If you don't know what the dragon is, its a mountain road thats 11 miles with 311 curves in it. It's a blast.

Anyway I basically lit my brakes on fire. My buddy in his T/A said flames and sparks were shooting everywhere. I can't decide whether a BBK or just some replacements.

Get some Brembo replacements from AutoMax.
