Maybe sway bar endlinks. The ball joint in them often rusts out and just starts knocking about with turns and with bumps at low speed.

Take a look at your suspension components, maybe there is something rubbing.

Are you on stock springs? Strut bearing would be something to check.

If you changed your springs, I'd check the clocking of the upper spring perch as well. I see so many Maxima's with incorrectly clocked upper perches after a drop it's not even funny. And they all wonder why their suspension makes noises.

Strut mount bearing is what it sounds like to me.

I have had the same problem with my 95 SE and changed out my wheel bearings and it fixed the problem. What mishmosh said is true also if your CV boots were torn and water and dirt and grime gets in there it can get to those links. And if you don't catch it it will seep into the steering rack. Good Luck
