what should i replace my agx's with

my kyb agx's are old and shot car is handleing pretty sloppy. so my question is what should i replace them with i liked the agx's alot just dont know if i want to spend that much to replace them with the same thing right now. how do the GR-2s handle compared to the agx's. or what would you recommend for some less expensive performance shocks/struts. used agx's are always a possiblity if they are in good condition. also should i replacing the strut mount and boot from my old agx's or will they be ok with the new struts?thanks

How many miles did your AGX's last?

GR-2's are basically valved the same as the AGX's set on 2/4.
They are a firm strut and will handle well at the cost of some ride comfort.

I was hoping that these would carry a longer longevity...than 50,000 miles considering my stockers lasted 140000+ miles...

Go with Coilovers, they cost more, but worth it.

If you bought them new, then they should be able to be warranted. Then you would spend a lot less money than the other suggestions. (As long as you were happy with them in the beginning.)

If you do have the reciept, and are able to go back to the place of the original purchase, you should be able to get replacements. (If they are indeed bad!) KYB will only warrnty struts that have definately failed. For example, if they determine that only 2 of the 4 have failed you would have to spend the money for the 2 that weren't defective. You would really want to make sure. If they are leaking, it should automatically be warranted. You just need to make sure of how bad they are to begin with.
