Input shaft bearing

Input shaft bearing

How hard is it to replace the input shaft bearing on a 5spd? Or is the whole trans a gonner?

I wouldnt do it myself....you have to take apart the tranni. Most shops will charge around $800 to replace all the bearings. I wouldnt just replace one bearing when the tranni is already open...When a bearing goes bad it usually get chipped away and can leave little metal flakes in the tranni which can ruin the other bearings....anyway now to answer your question...Its not as hard as it is time-consuming
