Are there any other brands that will work on a '97 Max besides Stillen?

I don't know. I can't find that spec in the factory service manual. I don't have a filter "on the shelf" to measure. Seems to me that Perma-Cool ought to know.

My oil seems to run in the 125-150 range all the time....and I'm getting a S/C in a week....would I need a cooler, because to me, that sounds awefully low.

I just installed my tranny cooler two days ago and was surprised how hot the fluid can get by touching the surface of the cooler. I spend most of my commute to work in traffic everyday, so i figured that i should install a tranny cooler. I live in CA and it tends to get really hot during the summer peak, especially with my long drives down I-5 towards L.A. on certain weekends. So, my next preventative maintenance mod will be an engine oil cooler by either Hayden or Perma-Cool. The Stillen product is just too expensive. I believe if you have an SC, you will need a tranny cooler because the tranny can't handle all that power and your engine temp will shoot up. Correct me if I'm wrong........

Yeah I installed my tranny cooler two weeks ago and was also surprised how hot the cooler gets. After long drives, it is too hot to touch!
