I'll check and see if Lowe's has anything similar once I get my filter/adapter. As of right now they carry 2" and 3" plastic piping and necessary bends, that's about it. Didn't look for rubber stuff, but the rubber stuff I saw was like <1".

Blame it on the MEVI? Come on, you should still have enough torque.

I may have enough torque but not fast enough, her cars peak torque is at like 2k or something. USIM i can beat her, so I may go back. I think I know the plastic stuff you are speaking of, how do you think you are going to connect them? Maybe silicone or somthing? I used the rubber because it was easy to clamp and they had a 3ft section of 3in plastic that fit perfectly into the flares on the 90s.

I'm connecting them with silicone couplers, they sell them in various sizes with the clamps already on them.

I still say there has to be something wrong if you can't beat that car...PM me, let's keep that out of this thread.

I'll look when I get home, eBay is blocked here at school. I have a feeling it's a practical joke

Ptato...absolutely awesome! I was thinking of something like that but had no idea if it was even possible! Where'd you get the blower?

Thanks Chris. Yes, it is possible. But I'm thinking that perhaps vacuum tubing isn't the best choice. When you need to do a hard 90^, it kinks, almost in half. Plus, the corrugated inner walls can't be as good as smooth walls. I'm thinking of trying to find 2-3" rubber hosing. I think that will work better. I was also thinking of making a box to go around my filter to keep heat from the engine/SC away from the filter. I was also considering a cool air intake "network" where I run a series of scoops at the bottom of the car to key points in the engine. Such as one aimed right at the blower (he gets pretty damn hot!), and some at different points along the intake/charge pipe. I really like tatanko's clearance light intake too, that would be slick for track nights.

I bought my SC many years ago from Avalon Racing. I installed it on my '96 back in '02. I transferred it to my '99 a year ago this month. This was before the price hike and before the ultimate extinction of the Stillen SC kit. I paid $3250 new.

Off topic, but did you get the ****? I was figuring it should have showed up yesterday - today at the latest hopefully.

Sounds good! I have no idea how long it will take me to save for the SC. I posted somewhere else as well but, if I go for the Bomz cold air on ebay and build a custom box around it then run some tubing it would be worth it? Am I gonna lose a lot of low end power if I do that?

I'm not sure if I got the shifter yet tho! I'm on spring break starting in like... 10 minutes haha. I'll be home tonight to see if it came. If it did I'm gonna have a fun weekend!

I don't know about that low end power scare. Some people say your lose power and you end up hurting your self with a "ram air box" type design at low speeds - until you get up there in speed and get the ram affect going. But I am not so sure. I would think you would be fine. To be safe, you might want to run say 2 2"-3" hosed to the box, or even leave one plane of the box off completely (pick a plane opposite the heat source obviously) so your car can "breath" even at low speeds. But if you plan on going SC, don't spend too much time with little mods that will yield relatively small gains and you'll have to rip out anyway. Have fun on spring break! Spring break in mid March? Is it just me or is spring break creeping up earlier and earlier each year?

I think you could probably do something similar if you wanted. Yours would require a tiny little section of tubing to get from the filter to the compressor. Probably two 90º bends.

I don't think even that much Tat. With the supercharger, the air filter is litterally right behind the passenger headlight and corner light.

Awesome! Enjoy. Feel free to ask me (or Tat. or chillin or darklegend) if you need help. For what it's worth, please do a seller/buyer feedback when you get a moment. Good luck.

Then it may be to your benefit to get a 90º bend and sit a filter right where the clearance light sits like I'm doing. Mine will sit back far enough for me to have the non-cut-out clearance light in for normal driving, but a 90º bend with a filter attached to it could make a nice track setup for you since it would come in and out easily.
