Oil and filters (checked fluid forum already)

I was looking at the fluid forum and was looking for info on oil changes. I'm changing oil this weekend and need some help. First I was gonna go with the Amsoil TSO Series 2000 0W/30 Synthetic oil. I know it's more expensive so would I be just as good off with Mobil 1 SuperSyn 5W/30?

Also regarding filters...the Nissan OEM 15208-9E000 is apparently not in make anymore. The new part number is 15208-00001. Is this one just as good or should I go with a different filter?

Any help is appreciated!

what about k&n filters? do they filter too much? i bought one for a jeep cause it was easier to take off with the bolt than to find a wrench that large in such a small space.

i got the moble1 filter and oil right now, but is there any info on k&n filters that may help?

I do Castrol GTX with a Bosch filter (98.2%)
I have run Mobil 1 synthetic with Mobil filter (99%)

The only difference for me was the change interval.

The truth is Nissan engines are so well designed and today's oils are so good that it doesn't really matter. You can run Walmart house brand dino oil and Fram filters, change it every 7500, and the engine will still outlast the rest of the car.

Hey sry jac I didn't mean that in an a$$hole way. I think it came off that way tho.
Yeah whoever I talked to before on here said that they had gone to Nissan and that they were different number filters now. What numbers are the ones you got?

Ive normally used Castrol GTX in my older cars, but when I got the Maxima, Ive heard good things about Royal Purple in the past, so I started using Royal Purple 5w-30 and WIX filters. I ask if anyone disagrees with that because a few people have told me Royal Purple is over-rated and not worth the charge.

Any opinions?
