Can Tokico Illuminas handle a 2" drop?

So my wife bought me Dropzone springs with a 2" drop for my birthday. I'm looking at buying Illuminas because I want good adjustable shocks and I've read a lot of good stuff about them. I called Brad from Performance peddlers and he said that as long as the drop wasn't larger than 1.5" I shouldn't have any problems. Does anyone have Illuminas with a 2" drop? How does it ride, and do you have any feedback, + or -? Thanks.

do yourself a favor and throw away the dropzone springs. im not trying to be mean but they are not a good spring at all. one member had them break on him. not to mention they are uneven, too low, and too soft. you will hit the bump stops too often with them. go ahead and buy some tein h techs, eibachs, or H&R and pair them with the illuminas.

That was me with the broken spring, throw those peices of **** in the trash. But, I'm still using dropzone for now after i got the replacement. They handle good and aren't harsh, but I wouldn't suggest putting them on your car

That spring broke into 4 parts

Interesting...I was thinking of pairing the Illumina's with Canuck springs. I assumed they were okay for a 2" drop...

Yeah, I haven't heard great things about the DZ's. But I'm kind of in a bind because my wife bought them for me as a gift. It was a great surprise, but I don't want to snub her by reselling them or tossing them out.

Motocross416, so you haven't had a horrible experience since the broken spring, right? Do they hit the bump stops all the time? Too soft? Thanks for the input on the springs, but I don't see the springs changing.

My main question is does anyone have Illuminas ona 2" drop? Pics might be nice if anyone has them...

Since the spring broke, I've been running them for about a year (20k+ miles) and haven't had any problems. I must say that they do handle well and are not harsh, Its takes quite a hard hit to hit the bump stops with them. There are two places where I can actually hit the bump stops if I try. Another thing is that the paint is chipping off the springs so they are starting to rust also.

I'm sure that spring that broke was a freak accident or bad batch. You could be fine running them. I would suggest doing it yourself so that you don't have to pay a shop to do it. I would just keep an eye on the springs. I noticed the broken spring because all of a sudden it started making a clunking noise over every bump that I hit, so it was pretty noticeable when it happened.

edit, forgot to say that the reason I keep them on is basically because of the $ it would cost to replace them. If anything else does happen, I'll get rid of them and go with sprints or something. I'm just keeping an eye out on them and making sure they are staying in one peice
