i'd be interested to see it on a 4th gen but not necessarily up for buying one.

Yeah dude, um.. they do have photoshop for computers and at least home depots in your state I think.
To stay in topic, I would NEVER put a wide body kit on my Maxima...

Was that directed towards me? If it is, I do have PhotoShop on my computer. And I do have a Home Depot in my state. That's where I got the duct tape. But, why cover up the picture? Anyone could PhotoShop a lip onto their car.

Yeahhhhhh.... no.
Think I'll keep the widebody off of my FWD sedan... it will look horrible IMO. 4th gens already have a great, subtle, classy look to them, why screw it up by trying to do extreme crap? That's not what the Max is about.
Guess that's just my opinion though. When do we get those damn 4th gen die-casts?

all these people already bashing the kit ... no ones even seen it yet ! .... you cant JUDGE off a photo shop or an altima with a widebody kit ... you just have to wait to see a 4th gen max with a widebody kit installed and painted with the RIGHT rims ... rims make all the difference.... SOME of us know this .. im pretty sure it will look a m a z i n g done right

The price for just the rear should be ~$450 - $500. I'm getting the S14 rear to put on my S13 as well, so It may be a few months before I get them. My wife says I have to have my RB25 running and driving before I can buy any body panels.
I agree, it looks a but squared off for my taste... but I'm all about the custom. I will taper the upper corner that ends between the two doors so that t look smore muscular and rounded. I have a fuel cell, so I don't have to extend my filler neck and I already have no door handles in the rear, so I figure I'm a prime candidate.
I'm not sure why people are crying RICE. Bodywork is bodywork whether it's a Stillen lip or wider fenders. What does it have to do with rice? So you just label it rice if you don't like the looks? How subjective... I'm not sure what 'the Max is about' other than a great engine series, good interior room, and a good price. Personally, I have thought the Max's styling a bit docile. Clean, but bland. I have kept mine becaue I'm a Nissan freak, the weight is excellent, the VQ35 is a beautiful engine... and I've done away with the 'docile'. It is a great platform for...... experimentation.
I have a reason for widening my rear fenders that DOES have to do a great deal with perormance, but I'm not going to go into it here. I've been privvy to a bit of closed mindedness and flaming about a few things in the not so distant past, and I'd rather keep my mouth shut.
Regardless, I'll post when I am able to order the kit and get it on the car. I'm in mid-max project and mid-s13 project now, but I thought I'd post my intent in case someone else was thinking along the same lines.

Man, putting an '03 front-end on a '98 is just in my opinion. Did you just not want to bother with a custom HID/projector retrofit or do you actually like the way the '03 front looks? No disrespect intended, I'm just surprised.

given some thought, i think they could make it look a lot like a skyline. thats just my opinion though. ive thought about it before and almost underwent the project but decided i really didnt have enough knowledge or time to complete it. That max from texas with the skyline rear end conversion...a widebody would look absolutely amazing on that car, a lot of people probably would mistake it for a skyline....ive even had my car mistaken for one...but i think when people see nissan thats the first thing they think of.

I wouldn't mind have the rear section for my max...I think it would look kinda good. Once again you have to use your imagination, especially if you looking for something really custom. I would be in to get it...and if ya'll want...I can be a proto type But I think some body work would have to come into play...

What do you mean 'bother with a retrofit?' Believe me, this was harder than installing a projector and HIDs in a housing. I retrofitted my Fiero and it was easier than getting the bodywork just right. Yes I like the 2k2+ headlights MUCH better. The pre-milennium light housing isn't dynamic enough and looks too... well plain. It just looks like a square, old-school housing no matter what you put in it or around it. It's just more bland.
The cefiro housing was an option, but I figured I'd 1up that. The 4 lenses in the newer housing plus the swooping design goes much better with my body work. Plus I get a lot of.... 'wow! what kinda car is that??'
If you want to look like a typical stocker max, then go for it. I just prefer hybridization and experimentation. I already have a much better sleeper vehicle.

a light weight CF widebody kit would be cool, i want to see one at least for the 4th gen.
its not for everyone thats for sure. however for larger front tires on the track its probably a good idea to get. with a front wheel drive car that is key isnt it. so if i was smart and wanted to look good on the track aswell i would upgrade those front tires to something larger and get the widebody kit. ;D
but thats only some people, and a small margin of you guys really wana put slicks on your maxes, i mean most of us use the max for daily driving or autocross, and a few others for racing and even less for dragging, can i get a count of how many people are using turbo?

While on the topic of wasting money and mistaken identity, does anyone have plans for a Widebody S15 front R34 rear 2 door AWD Maxima hatchback? If so, can I see some pics, because I can't decide between that and funding a race team for a few seasons.
(I really gotta do somthing about this lying problem)

The vacuum in the 4th gen forum has moved beyond the point of no return. As each single old school member leaves they are replaced by 3 n00bs who all ask the same question without searching. It is a dark time for the 4th gen forum indeed...
