IAT Sensor Mod?

I read about a mod for the IAT. It's the one with the resistor that tells the ecu it's colder out than it really is that splices into the IAT not the MAF like the ebay ones. I know in camaros this advances the timing and is reported to give decent power gains. This mod is very popular with z28 camaros and yes I know they are 2 completely different cars but would this mod possibly work also on the max? In the camaros it shows no bad side effects. I think someone would have figured it out by now if it was possible so I just figured i'd ask. I'm not sure if this is the same as that stupid ebay chip that splices into the MAF but if it is, I already know the answer so disregard this.

An IAT mod like that just tricks the ECU into thinking you're running cold all the time which dumps more fuel into the engine. All it does is increase a power a little while wearing out your emission bits in your exhaust quicker (from the excessive fuel) and lowers you MPG. =/ I wouldn't do it.

When my truck is cold (I have an '02 Dodge Ram w/ a 4.7L V8) it runs like a bat out of hell... but the gas mileage is HORRIBLE. Once the truck warms up, it feels a lot slower, but the mileage is a lot more "reasonable". =/
