alunimum dash vs. carbon fiber

my car is a 98 GXE with an all tan interior. i want to get a dash kit cuz some of the middle black panels (around climate control) are starting to fade and look old. i was thinking that a carbon fiber kit would look better in a tan interior, but i saw some picture of brushed alumnimum on tan interior, and it looked alright. if anyone has pictures post em, and give me your opinion.

I like the carbon fiber better. It's closer to the stock black, the aluminum just sticks out too much IMO.

I will post pics soon, I have tan interior and the carbon fiber looks way better in my opinion. Still kinda stock looking. I only put the whole center console pieces on, nothing else.

ADAM, I AM GETTING NEW TRIM FOR MY INTERIOR THAT YOU SAW ME TAKING BACK HOME WHEN I STOPPED BY, IM GOING WITH THE BRUSHED ALUMINUM AGAIN FROM CUSTOM MAXIMA THIS TIME, THE REAL STUFF NOT THE CHEAP-O EBAY CRAP, SO EITHER WAY YOU GO, GET THE REAL STUFF DON'T GO CHEAP OR YOU'LL REGRET IT. I think the carbon would look good as well, but really, i think you'll like either one personally.

I have tan also and went carbon fiber for the same reason. I think the CF has more depth to it than the aluminum. Aluminum looks better in a black interior cause the black already has enough depth in it to offset the silver.

I would tear that mismatched tan/brown out of there for starters.

ya i checked the custom maxima stuff, its way more expensive than the cheap ebay shiznit, im just gonna try it for now, i can get a CF kit for like 40$ shiped. if it starts to look ****ty, ill take it off and paint my dash silver. i love the way it looks painted silver - much more shiny that a kit, but for now i just want to cover up my faded black, and they really cant be that bad, can they??? (ebay kits)

im for sho goin with CF over aluminum now, aluminum doesnt look as good IMHO on tan/gray

Personally, I dont think CF or Brushed aluminum would look good on tan. Wood grain is about the only thing that would look good.
Black goes well with both CF and brushed aluminum.

You can get the pieces wrapped in a carbon fiber looking vinyl, if you don't want to spend much.

I got the charcoal interior with the carbon fiber kit, looks tight, although I think the aluminum looks better with the tan, but check out some pics before you make ur decision... Good luck

I would go with the Aluminum Kit. It will look a lot sleeker with the tan interior. Custom Maxima would definitely be a better fit, but I went with a Wood kit from expressdash on eBay, and it came out great- it was pretty easy to put on too. Here's the link to the sellers feedback: http://feedback.ebay.com/ebaymotors/...240927&frm=284

hope this helps

On tan interior, I would say wood > carbon fiber > aluminum. Just my opinion though, it's your car. Regardless, try to get something that is good quality and decent fitment, otherwise it will look bad regardless of what finish it is.

Your going to get way too many differences of opinion, besides... who cares. You need to decide, get as many pics as possible and make your own conclusions. Here's one for you from my old 4th Gen ( ebay).

I gotta agree with flava. Wood looks best with tan. Looks much more stock and much more classy. I'm hoping to do my black interior with some type of silver or titanium color soon.
