which performance pads do you guys use/recommend?

I can't search, so: I'm looking for budget priced pads with performance in mind. Also, brake dust is not a friend of mine, so please don't recommend any pads that shed bad. So far, I was thinking of these due to the very cheap price and it seems like you get all eight pads so I can do the rear while I'm at it: http://www.racepages.com/performance...2&brandid=1121
Also, the EBC green pads seem more appealing due to the performance. Anybody have experience? What about others? Any help is appreciated, thanks.

if you want performance you have to make sacrifices. dust is one of those sacrifices. noise is another depending on pad. the performance frictions are ok on braking and not so good on dust. i've got the Hawk HPSs now, but the're noisy and i get some dust. if you get the EBCs, let us know how they are.

i need new pads also, just a good basic OEM replacement that WILL NOT produce that much dust. ive never changed pads on my own, how hard is it? pretty easy, right?

Do not use EBC "green stuff" those pads are horrible they shed really bad brake dust for about the first 2k miles. Use those Hawk brake pads everyone suggest I have heard nothing but good about those pads...

i have the hawks hps pads with braided lines and brembo blank. i do alot of freeway driving and i sometimes make hard stops. the hawks are animals, more than the brembos can take as now there all grooved up and humming really load while braking. if you go hawk, get some power slot rotors. like i said before though, dust and noise is noticable with these pads.

I would get either the Hawk or pbr(axxis) pads they are the two best in my opionion for CDS rotors. I have the axxis ultimates for a year and CDS rotors for over two and they both look/perform like new. There is no noise at all and the braking is 10x better than the oem setup. They do dust like my oem pads did but not much worse if any. Actually the dust washes off easier and it doesn't seem to stick to the wheel like my old pads did.

I have the PBR MetalMasters. I got a good deal on them and they're much quieter and very powerful. I've put about 20k on them and they still feel like new.

i always get the PBR/Axxis metal masters for performance. they dust, but thats what you get when you go with performance.

isnt their a site called maxmods.dyndns.com or something like that (in the sticky's somewhere) that has brake pad suggestions and some info about them? i could be wrong.

ebc is under new ownership and i have heard from numerous subaru drivers that there pads are way better than what they use to be a few years ago. i guess it depends on what batch you buy (new/old).

just to follow up:
I've had the EBC greens on all four corners of the car for almost 3 years now, with factory rotors in the back and Brembos up front. The EBC's have worn the Brembos down about 2 mm and I see very little wear in the rear rotors. After about a year with the EBC's they started feeling really hard and grindy (hence the wear on the Brembos I assume). They just started squeeling some up front - time for some new fronts, the back are still at least 1/2 there! I don't know what pads I'm going with this time...
As far as performance and brake dust, I'd have to say the perf. was very good and brake dust minimal, considering the amount of abuse my brakes put up with.
So, I do NOT recommend the EBC green pads for Brembo rotors, but they are great with factory rotors.

Akebono's and Brembo rotors are working great for me on my '97. More stopping power than stock with minimal dust. I put the Hawks on my wife's '05 and she made me take them of after a week because they were so noisey. But to be honest, I now think the noise was caused by a slight warpage in the disks so that the pads lightly kissed the disk every revolution. I'm waiting for Brembos to be restocked at Tire Rack.

Actually, I think it has more to do with the fact that front brakes work harder than rear brakes. The material composition of factory rotors and brembo rotors is basically the same.

I've been using EBC Redstuff on my Maxima for a few months now and aside from moderate dusting, they work perfectly. Plenty of bite, work well very hot or cold, and quiet using the included backing material. So far I don't see more than nominal rotor wear.

Although I personally use Duralast Gold Ceramic pads on my wifes Max, I also recommend PBR/Axxis(which BTW, Stillen reboxes as their brand) pads for performance street pads. Old tymers would recognize Axxis as Repco, which were/are one of the best pads to date.
