Best way to connect XM to 96 Bose?

What's the best way to connect XM to 96 Bose Maxima? I keep hearing it depends on the car whether tape deck or direct FM modulation will sound better and wanted to get some advice.

I posted this in the audio section but no know responded so I apologize in advance for posting here.

If it is a choice between the two, Id go with the tape deck.

Both will sound like dreck anyways.

I tried FM and tape for ipod on non Bose HU on Max, E39 528 and DSP HU on a Vigor ...while the FM is conveniant when changing cars, the tape has much better quality. Unfortuanately none of my HUs have (front) input jacks

Like I said, the tape will always sound better. The tape deck in a max sounds better than the CD player stock...

If someone went through the trouble to figure out how to add an input, Id go that route.

idk i think these days there alot better since the technology is crazy. I'd try out the modulator rather then rewiring and maybe messing up the radio. my .02
