No, you need the right 55 watt bulb. Why not pull an old one out to see what it is.

This is what Osram says it is

DW539329408P Osram/Sylvania Fog Light Bulb - H3 55w halogen capsule
Nissan Maxima 3.0 SE Fog Light Bulb
Application: H3 55w halogen capsule
Fits: 02/1994 - 03/1999 Nissan Maxima 3.0 SE, transmission: N/A
Important Fit Details: Vehicles made from 02/1994 to 03/1999.
Transmission Type: N/A
Brand: Osram/Sylvania

They are 5.50 on-line. Or the stealer probably wants ten bucks for an OEM one..

Sylvania are good bulbs. Autozone and all those places should carry them. Don't forget to het H3 bulbs.

i suppose theres no problem with using a 100w h3. One more thing, is there a way to turn the fogs on without turning on the normal headlights?

You can just turn on the corners and then the fogs, or rewire to just use the fogs by themselves...It is in the stickies

I'm not so good with electrical stuff. Any 12V wire will do i guess.

use a stock 55watt, nothing else, unless you're going HID. You can burn out the harness. I did that with one of my headlights.

All you need to know is H3. And make sure your foglights are really tight, because vibration kills H3 bulbs easily in my experience.

I was looking at these and it says draw is 55W and output is 100w. output should also be 55 watt correct?

there is one bolt that hold the fog light in place, that piece was broken, so the fog light was easilly pulled out of the front opening. putting them back in? I may have to take off the front bumper. . . or atleast jack the car up in the air so I can get under.

I couldn't figure out how to replace the fog lamp. One dealer told me that he couldn't do it and the dealer that eventually replaced the lamp, said it wasn't easy.

Umm...replacing the fog light is EXTREMELY easy. It's only held onto it's bracket by one bolt, which can even be removed with a phillips head screwdriver, and it pops right out. If the bracket has to be removed, it's only held on by 3 bolts which are fairly easy to get at. Whatever dealers you took it to need to get a clue.

yea, it was pretty easy...i did it from underneith the car and just pulled the bulb out from the back rather then taking the whole light assembly out. it was pretty damn easy.

Dont run 100 watt bulbs! I ruined my fogs with them. The inside got so hot the chrome flaked off.

Why would you do that when you can take out the whole housing in 30 seconds and see exactly what you're doing?

because instead of a hypothetical 30 seconds that you talk about, it took me an actual maybe 4 minutes to put the car up in the air on the lift, unscrew the bolts and change the fog lights. and, i could see what i was doing too

Why go through all that trouble when all you have to do is pop off a trim piece and remove a single phillips-head screw? Gahh. Hard way kind of person, huh?

lol no, it just seemed easier at the time...all i had was a screwdriver that was kinda short, therefore it wasnt great for getting to that screw youre talkin about. so up it went and within 10 minutes it came down again. plus, i had 3 hours of class time to kill...so goin the longer route didnt really hurt too bad.
