not really a huge deal but the thing I hate about maxima doors is that it looks like they are welded on.. I took off a focus door b4 but that was easy since it was just bolt on and bolt off

anyone take off a maxima door ??? .. I will get a replacement door from the junkyard but getting the old one off and getting the new one on is the hard part .... any thoughts ?? anyone got a pebble beige rear pass. door for sale, haha

Take the inner door panel off first then pull out the harness for the pdl/pw. The door hinges should be bolted on. If you want your tint to match you'll have to swap out the glass too. The glass would be easier to remove BEFORE you disconnect the pw switch.

its seam sealer or some other sealant to keep out the water. the rear doors are bolted on, but I think one bolt is backwards and has to be accessed from inside the car.

You don't need to replace the whole door. You should be able to get a door skin, pretty cheap, from one of the parts places that supplies body shops. Of course you'd need to drill out the spot welds and prize off the old skin, I did it years ago on one of my cars and used a hammer and cold chisel. But thinking about it, you're probably best off getting a complete door, cos you need to braze or spot weld or tack-arc the new skin, and maybe you're not into that. Hey, maybe you can find a door of the right colour.... I bet it will still need painting though.

Although Clive's idea would probably be cheaper (and something I would do), I think for someone who is inexperienced with body work, a replacement door would be the better way to go. Should be a pretty easy affair, and if you find the right colour door you'll really luck out! And as said above, if you wanna use your glass, take it out before you unhook the power window!

You don't need a replacement door, that door can easily be fix by body shop, probably for the price you'll pay for a mismatched used door from a junk yard.

I have to agree with you on that, about a month and a half ago some dumb a$$ backed right into my door at wall mart, i went to junk yards to get prices, with the paint fu(ked up on the door they ranged from $120-150. I got the dent pulled and painted for $200, all i had to do was wet sand and buff, he would of done that 2 for an additional $50. So definitely look into body shops the smaller places usually give you better prices.

I'd definitely check out a body shop first before replacing the whole door. Unless the pic doesn't do it justice and the damage is worse than it looks.
