Rear Brakes- AGAIN! how much $?

THE DAMN CALIPERS ARE SEIZED AGAIN! I cant believe this ****. I changed them 25k ago and now the rear drivers side one is seized and getting really hot. I have to now replace a caliper have the rear rototrs cut, and have new pads put on. How much should I be paying? I am in Brooklyn New York keep in mind.

I'd definately tear it appart and clean everything real well. Make sure all the guides are lubed....Cost wise, depending if your doing it yourself can vary. I don't know if anyone recommends just getting some caliper from the junk yard. Don't think they are too expensive there...Good Luck

I would not get them from a junkyard. If it's not the same caliper as the last one that seized, I'm not surprised.

But make sure it's not the e-brake cables dragging this time. I've dealt with both a seized e-brake cable and a seized caliper.

Make sure it's not just a stuck or corroded caliper pin.
I had one stick after a pad change and rotor got smoking hot
just going around the block. Another time- pin got totally
corroded and froze in place - causing pads to wear on an
angle. It took over an hour for me to free it and put a new
pin in , but both rear calipers are still original and work fine
after 10 1/2 years - quarter million miles.

I have an extra drivers side rear caliper, I am willing to sell it if you need it. My passenger side rear got stuck and I just brought both rear calipers from this guy. But I don't need the rear drivers side.

Caliper maintenance should be a regular to-do item just like fluid changes, tire rotations, etc. Nobody told me either. Here's my maint writeup.
