Strange starting problem with my max
Hey guys been having some wierd problems with my 1995 Maxima.
Whenever I turn the ignition the car engine doesn't start over. All the electrics in the car start up but its like the engine never even got any juice. I do hear a single click though as I start it up. Turn the key again and its fine. Sometimes I even have to pull the key out and put it back in and it starts up fine.
I recently installed a sound system in the car but the problem existed before I installed it.....
My best guess is that the starter motor needs replacing. Anyone have any better theories? I also just replaced the battery its been there for about 4+ years and I finally replaced it even though its not given me any problems so far.....

Has your starter been acting up prior to dying? Maybe cranking unevenly or stuttering?
Anyway you could try banging on your starter with a piece of pipe -- it's exposed on the right side of the engine, kind of under the MAF area of the intake.
That works some times because the gears on the starter get stuck together, and just need a jolt to free themselves. You'll have to replace your starter eventually, but it worked for me a couple times.
