exhaust gaskets
hey guys, i just got off the phone with my local napa, and i need a exhaust gasket for inbetween the cat converter, and the y-pipe. he said that the production date of my car makes a difference, he said if it was made before march of 99 he had the gasket, but if it was made after than he did not have it. any ideas what he is talking about?

if you don't figure this out, do what i did and head to checker or napa and get gasket material. it comes in a 12x12 square and you can cut out whatever you need. kind of a pain and not the best stuff, but definitely good for custom work. used it on my catback since i could not fine 2.5" gaskets anywhere.

You can just easily check the driver's door frame for a "born on" date. I believe what he's asking is whether you have an A32 chassis or an A33. I just got the same question asked to me about my '99 GLE - 1/99 was the born on date. Fourth Gen's are all A32 chassis most likely built before March '99 - but I could be wrong on that.
