You fockers. I get like 250-275 miles on a tank, and that's 50/50 city/highway. I do have a heavy foot on onramps and such and I get more on long trips, but when I have calculated it out it's like 16-18mpg city/highway. I would probably get better mileage with a Vette.

Does this mean I have to clean my TB?

Edit: I fill up when it's below empty, so usually 16-17gals.

See? SEE?!?!?! All you fools bashing the turbo fuel saver and tornado alike, you guys should be ashamed of yourselves. Look how much we could have been saving!!!

Is there ever a time when we shouldn't be cleaning our TB's?

97 5sp, y-pipe, HAI, K&N... i've only had the low gas light come on once since i bought the car almost 2 yrs ago. i usually fill up around 1/4 tank, ~14 gal or so, around 350 miles... rougly 23-25 mpg. 80/20 city/highway. i get on it when i can, but it's tough in traffic

and i agree, mpg is much more meaningful than miles per tank. some people on here talk about filling it up when the low fuel light comes on, some fill up at 1/4 tank... not a very accurate representation

edit: stock 16" 5 spoke wheels

I get around 18-20mpg probably. About 95% suburban short trips. I live 2 miles from work. I always use 93 octane. Medium lead foot.

When does the next gas mileage thread start? I don't want to miss it.

I get roughly about 420 miles per tank on mid grade. About 23 or so per gallon on an average city and highway together. I have a y-pipe and Injen CA intake with stock rims and tires.

well i think i may have found out why my mileage sucks. i was on the hwy 2 days ago and i got an 0707 code, rear 02 sensor. i read that the rear one doesn't impact fuel economy or performance, but i'm reasoning that if my rear sensor is no good, my front sensors are probably close to failing as well. i'm going to replace all 3, since i don't think they were ever changed, and i have 129k. will report back if anything improves

Most trips I am going over 10 mi. For a tank of 'local' driving I have seen as low as 24.5, but on hwy (avg speed 80-85) I have seen 27.5 mpg per tank. Very small range in general, even when I feel like I have been driving at high speeds. Even the 'short' drives here in Austin give me enough time to warm up.

Use the 300zx fuel filter, and OEM plugs of course, K&N air filter

(edited twice! for spelling)

ABC.

I get great highway milage. It's usually somewhere between 450-475 miles per tank. I use premium and have a y-pipe and intake. City driving is another story. I probably get a little over 300 miles to a tank but that's cause I got a lead foot. But I can't complain. My 95 z28 gets about 200 miles per tank give or take a few. Now that's bad. So compared to the z, the 300+ city miles are great.

23-28 mpg city
32-35 mpg highway

No cats, new KS, and 2.5" exhaust saw biggest MPG gains. I can drive in 5:00 traffic 45 mins to the local track, run 9 8th mile passes spraying a 75 wet shot and drive the 45 mins home on 1/4 of a tank of BP 93! I did it on Friday.

I get a consistent 240 to the tank. I fill up with 93, new injectors too and my mileage sucks. I got a tuneup about 10 months ago, and have only put 1500 miles on the car since. 100% city driving. Any ideas on what I should try?

First, start off to see if you have any codes. Bad O2 sensors effect gas mileage significantly, inflate your tires to proper psi, maybe you drive a little too fast?

I think Im going to try and clean my 02 sensors. I dont drive fast, barely over 30 I usually am in stop and go traffic. Anyone know what to use for cleaning the 02 sensors?

'96 Automatic with 227,000 miles. When I used to live out in the country I used to get 26mpg around town, now that I live in Philly it's more like 22mpg. My all time record is 34.2mpg on a 300 mile highway run with the cruise set at 74mph. Not bad for a mid-size performance sedan with 200,000+ miles!

Our '02 is a pig on gas compared to the '96, but the extra 65HP has to come from somewhere!

its funny when i drive my 4th gen i can get almost 100 miles on the first quarter tank but it seems like that ratio never rings true for the other 3/4.

I'm averaging 31 MPG (Imperial gallons) or 26 MPG US or 9 L/100km in mixed driving. Pretty good but not remarkable for a 3.0L.

I never implied that he DID!

Was i banned? How do you know?

Sublime was ok. I like playing their songs as well as listening to them.
Good talent, BAD decisions.

I feel odd... I get about 390-420 everytime on city/highway on auto 96. I drive the max very very moderately (no redlining or trying for speedo touchdown). On highway, it does pass 450 miles. No mods whatsoever. Both 96 maximas are consistent. 92 octane everytime.

I now see what you were/weren't implying - but the way you replied would lead one to believe that you were talking about him. My bad.

Of course - being that you're the first person to comment on Sublime since I put that up, I'm more understanding...haha. Very bad decisions, I will agree.

Oh, and I read the ban log when it's updated, that's how I know. I'll grab you a link. http://forums.maxima.org/showpost.ph...&postcount=496

The most I ever got out of my 96 auto with same mods was 661, sputtered pulling to the pump.
661? Jesus H! That's like 37 mpg.

I usually get 23/24 mpg. 350 miles and then I put 15 gallons in on fillup give or take. No mods, more than half city miles.
