Oh, and I read the ban log when it's updated, that's how I know. I'll grab you a link. http://forums.maxima.org/showpost.ph...&postcount=496

Yeah, i meant no disrespect or anything. When i lived at home i had a much nicer car but, I dont mind giving up having a nice car because having my own place kinda rocks.

Wher in the world did u find that post? I guess i was banned AGAIN and didn't even know it.

Did you get your final drive gear changed to compensate for the 18"'s, or just get a speedo calibration?

280 :-(

I average 280. I get all my services on time. The only thing I haven't changed is the fuel filter. Could that be the culprit?!?!?! All stock. All city driving.

Yeah, they probably treat it nicely and don't beat the p!ss out of it. What a shame, the car might actually be in good condition.

For best results everyone who posted in this thread should go to http://www.fueleconomy.gov/ and start calculating they're gas mileage. This is a good tool, if there are big spikes in mileage it can forwarn you of possible problems, help you maintain good driving habits, and the best thing of all you can compare results with other car owners alike. Greatly reducing in wasteful posts like this one. and should be

My gf gets 400-420 to a tank with a bad O2. I'll be replacing that this weekend, and we'll see where it goes from there.

I'm getting between 26 and 27, but it's all on the highway. I don't think you could squeeze much more out of it.

I get about 320 per tank and it is 90 city and 10 highway. I also saw a decrease in the mileage when I put the 19's on the car. I did get about 445 on the highway going on vacation this year.

Stock 96 SE Auto. I like to accelerate fast sometimes, well... you know.

I always wondered if you only filled up your tank about half way, how much better gas mileage would you get. Because going from a 2 Gallons of gas in the tank to 18 (full tank I think) feels so sluggish. I get about 22MPG most of the time. (about 330 miles or so on 16 gallons out of my 18)

I think next tank I am going to take it really light and keep revs under 3k so I can get an accurate measurement.

I just bought 97 Maxima GLE .
It has Check engine light on.
I had it computer diagnosed and found that I have to replace Knock and O2 sensor.

Right now the mileage is somewhere 13m/g in the city (with a heavy foot)

After all it's brooklyn NY .....

I hope after I fix it the mileage would be at least 18 m/g in the city.

my 95 max bought new for the first 6 years averaged about 250 per tank taken to empty .
all city driving and I filled up every month or so .
in the first 6 years I took a few trips from LA to vegas got around 30mpg at that time..
took a trip to texas from utah in 04 and got around 430-450 per tanks always putting in 17-17.5 gallons.
now that my odometer is healthy again . and the true miles on the car is around 45K and driving about 30 miles a day highway for work with a little city tossed in its back to 400-430 per tank. I have had the CEl light on since dec 94 the code was KS and evap can purge.
seems its not affecting milage yet ?

gas mileage

I usually get about 20-21mpg driving mixed 5-15mi trips. The best gas mileage I ever got was driving 4hrs on the highway at 65-75mph with no traffic. I think it was about 32-35mpg.

A couple of weeks ago, I poured a bottle of Gumout Xtra fuel injection cleaner into the gas tank and the following fresh tank gave me 24.5mpg. I'm wondering if I'll get the same thing with this week's tank of gas.

The worse gas mileage I got was during the first year after I bought the car during the summer. 17mpg. Maybe the AC, Maybe short trips. Maybe too much acceleration. Maybe all of the above.

95 Maxima GLE, All Stock, near 120k miles. Started with Premium Gas but downgraded to Regular when it went over $2/gal.

I am excited! I got 22mpg today. I've been getting 19 : (
My maxima is a 1997 with stock performance, but I think I do need to change the knock sensor soon.

you have a 2.5 inch piping with like a 3 inch outlet. Also you have a bad o2 that I have to replace.

Ok, the following tank of gas only gave me 19mpg. I was driving more aggressively though. I'll try to get into granny gear for the next tank and see if I can get back to 24mpg. No accelerating beyond 2000rpm, get off the gas if the light in front is red as soon as you see it, less lane changes, etc....

Maxima 99, no modifications, winter 16miles/gal, summer 21, one tank is good for about 320-350 miles.
