those of you with key value clutches, how many miles/km did yours last?
those of you with key value clutches, how many miles/km did yours last?
I have a strong feeling that when Nissan installed my last clutch, they put in a Key Value version instead of a real oem. 52,900 miles (~85k KM) later and the clutch is slipping. As a matter of fact it feels like it has been slipping the entire past year to year and a half (about 30,000 miles).
It doesn't slip too badly in day-to-day driving, but I cannot drop the clutch at all, and when it got heated up at the track last year it couldn't grab worth a damn (ie I couldn't even chrip the 1-2 shift and I couldn't do a single burnout after my 1st couple of runs!). I notice also that the tranny bogs and there is slippage on my 3-4 and 4-5 switches, especially when i throw it in gear fast at a lower rpm.
Is anything wrong here, or is it normal for a key value to go this quickly? 90% of the time my car is driven really easily (leave stops from idle, never go through gears very fast, 70% highway driving, etc). Is there anything I should look for that I can fix on my current clutch without having to replace it?
Thanks

Same here. I didnt have the time to change mine so I dropped it off at a local mechanic shop. A week later I was back asking for the part numbers of the parts they used and sure enough the numbers came back to that key value crap. I'm having the exact same problems you guys are having. OEM 5th gen replacement clutch coming soon.
