You're better off just replacing with a Fram filter every 10-15k or so. The oil filters will give you a little power when they're clean but it'll only last for a little while, and then they're worse than the paper filters (even when you try to clean them).

Just get a CAI with k&n cone filter, and not worry about the filter for a long time.

I have an Amsoil drop in filter, & cleaning is every 25,000 miles or 1 yr.
To clean it you either use a shop vac or air hose! Filter will last 4 yrs. No oiling needed! It's better than the Fram filter, K&N filter, just make sure you don't over oil it.
Go with the Amsoil filter.

There is not a noticable power gain with drop in filters. I'd say get a cone filter and have a bad @$$ sounding car!

yes i was thinking of getting a cone filter but i didnt want to sacrifice my car on low rpm range so i guess im gonna stick with amsoil cuz it doesnt need to be oiled all the time. thanks for the replies

I don't think there will be any noticeable power increase with just a drop in filter.

You dont sacrifice anything from a CAI, if you have modded exhaust. If you are still running stock exhaust then maybe... just maybe you are losing a tad of low end, however you make more then enough back up high end. If your worried about power... of what use is low end power? Im guessing you want more power to run better 1/4 miles, which ive never heard anyone doing all in low end rpms. Once you start moving, them RPMs aint going under 4k again.
