With patience, you can. I just installed my own grounding kit last night and it was a huge pain in the *** at times, and I'm considered mechanically inclined. I had a few stripped bolts that wouldn't go back in, so I had to find my own replacement bolts. Also, if you're not careful, you'll drop bolts into what seems like a bottomless pit of wires and tubes.

Make sure you have a 10mm socket, 10mm wrench, ratchet and various extensions. Trying to install without these will take ages. Also, would be nice if you had WD-40 and some sandpaper or a steel brush, to clean up the grounding spots before the install. Another handy tool to have around the garage is a magnetic telescopic picker upper thing for all those dropped bolts

I built my own grounding kit based on the Active Tuning grounding kit but they all do the same thing. The eBay one should be okay.

If your decently hands on inclinded and you have a guide, There it no way to **** it up, Now if you do, it would be because your installing during a thunder storm with the battery and alt with the car running... lol THAT would be a big NO.

And I am sure you know unplug the battery and all that.

DEJA VU...ALL OVER AGAIN!

I just made the following post to another thread on grounding kits.

I ran my grounding kit (bought off of eBay) as follows:

1. (-) battery terminal to existing grounding site on frame below, and to the right of the fuse box on driver's side.

2. Cylinder head to existing grounding site on frame near filler tube for window washer.

3. Intake manifold to existing grounding site on frame near where #2 was attached.

4. Timing valve cover to frame under the cruise control servo vaccum.

I skipped a loop that would have had me going from #1 to a spot on the transmission, and then on to #2.

The reason I skipped it was that I was basically lazy -- I would have had to take out the battery and battery tray in order to get to the right spot on the tranny...and since I had just installed a new battery before doing the grounding wires, I did not feel like pulling it out and putting it back in.

BTW, I also have a voltage stabiizer (also bought from eBay) hooked to the battery and #1 grounding wire. I'd be happy to provide photos, if you like.

What a waste of money, should of made one yourself for like $15 tops, or I could of made you one for a lot cheaper. To me, they are easy to install, I can install the Active Tuning setup in under 15 minutes.

What waste of money? I paid $12.95 for mine...shipping included. That was a year ago, though.

Photos will be coming tomorrow evening.

Wow for $13 shipped is cheap! But these days the price has doubled. But still making a custom one is fun and well worth the time and money.

I ended up making my own for $8.00. One of my friends that works at Circuit City hooked me up with around 8 ft of 8 and 5 gauge amp wire.. I just ended up paying for the eye lid connectors. I also bought some shrink tubing for the amp wire because the wires were blue. And yup, it was pretty interesting to do. And they do work.. the car does have a quicker start.
