Front end problem

hey sorry for asking a question that probably comes up a lot, but google wasnt giving me any good information.

Pretty much ever since i got the car like 2 years ago, the front end has been vibrating/shaking when going 60+ mph. Recently its been getting worse so i replaced the front tires and had them balanced since thats what caused the same problem on my last car. That didnt solve anything and then problem is still there. Im sure many people have had this problem, so if anyone has and has fixed it or knows what needs to be replaced, let me know, thanks

Maybe needs an alignment, or the rotors may be warped.

the car doesnt pull to either direction, even at highway speeds, so im am not really suspecting the alighnment,i will get one but if something with teh front end suspension is causing it, id rather fix that first and only get one alignment.

also, will warped rotors cause this even when not braking? and how can you tell if they are warped?

i spoke with one of my co-workers who is a mechanic, he mentioned the tie rod ends. I dont know too much about suspension, does this make any sense or does it sound like something else? thanks

I had the same problem, had them ballanced and still had a vibration. I bought 2k2 17" rims and problem was gone, smooth as silk.

It was a bent rim.

wouldnt the mechanic who balanced the tires realize if one of the rims was bent?

dealing with the same thing right now. got them balanced and the guy did notice it was bent. those premium wheels bend easily, freakin soft metal. i didnt have the cash flow or the time to replace it, so i had it balanced in a way to compensate for the bentness. then rotated it to the back. same thing, helps a bit and for the time being. replacement of the wheel is obviously necessary. however i will say last time i had a vibration on the front end, after i got the wheels, obviously they werent bent, my CV boots were busted...leading to a f-ed drive shaft. check that out. suspension probably is not the issue.

if i jack up the car and take a look, what do i look for as far as signs go that the cv boots might be bad.? i might check those and the tie rod ends this weekend. i also might try to borrow a pair of wheels from someone to see if it could be a bent rim...this is really frusterating because i drive on the highway alot....
