Best thing I would say is put another fuse on a fuel pump electrical line or relocate ur current one and just disconnect it every time u leave the car.

instead of a kill switch couldnt one just remove the fuse for their fuel pump?
I think I may just do that when parking my car somewhere questionable. Until I get a better car alarm, lol.

So whats wrong with the factory alarm?

And if the thief has some fuses with him you are SOL! This is a pretty common, lazy way, of trying to deter thieves.

Factory alarm: no glass break sensor, no motion sensor, no engine kill, no back-up battery to keep the alarm active even after the battery is cut, the list goes on.....

Hey dude, I am sorry to hear this happened....I hope everything else is ok with the car....By the way what did you end up doing with the car I sold you??? I might have some ideas PM me when you get a chance. But I know what it feels like to have your car stolen. Happened to me a few years back, its a reall crappy feeling but you got it back and most people dont these days. But good luck with the repairs. Bruce

Well...if you unlock the doors from the inside when the doors have been closed and the alarm activated (say, through an open window), the alarm will go off. Thats...about....it.

meaning the whole alarm system can be bypassed by climbing in through a window or the Moonroof ...

oh yeah one more thing i forgot !! .... freddy the best thing about the viper 791 vx is that theres a silent page to your remote from up to a 1/4 mile away .. so if the car is bumped itll send a signal to u and then u can run like a **** and catch the guy in the act .. and well you know the rest

Thieves usually get it down to 60 seconds, either to steal what is in your car or the entire vehicle. If you can run 1/4 mile in 60 seconds, then great!

yes are correct, thiefs are quick ... but you might not neccasarily be a full 1/4 mile away from the car ... maybe just a stones throw, like in a restaurant .... and if my alarm went off and I thought maybe someone was stealing my car you can get bet my adrenaline would be through the roof and i could get out to my car in just a few seconds and you know the rest ..

Daaamn, I just saw this thread. Glad to hear you have recovered your car, It really put a damper on your recent upgrades with the car. Does the car start? or you havent gotten to fully examine the car?

Will insurance help out? or will you have to deal with this completely out of pocket?

Atleast you got it back and hopefully the clutch is still good.

Interestingly enough, in my car it doesn't work that way. If you removed the key and locked the doors, gave the system enough time to activate (stock security system, light goes from solid on to off) unless you use the key or the keyless entry pad to open it, you will get the alarm going off.

sounds more like you are one. running to your car is not the smartest thing if the crooks are determined to get it. I have been shot at enough times (only once, seemed more like a "get the F**K away" warning shot, didn't shoot toward me) to know not to try and stop them when they want my car. My life is worth more to me than my car

Man, I leave my keys in my car and no one steals it. Move to a small podunk town in the midwest and you dont have to worry.
