Painting trunk keyhole and antenna

Painting trunk keyhole and antenna
I am one of unfortunate ones whose maxima came with the really ugly gold lettering. I took off the lettering a couple years ago, but now want to paint the keyhole and antenna top black.
What type of paint should i use?
Would a paint from the hobby craft store work? Like a Testor's brand?
I assume the easiest option is to brush it on.
Who has done this and what did you use for paint?
If this is somewhere else on the org and you know where, please put a link so i can delete this thread ASAP.
Thanks, David

I tried it, it doesn't work very well. It just scrapes off. Someone suggested buffing the gold coating off the lock cylinders and other pieces, I haven't tried it yet. It does require removing them, which isn't THAT big of a deal, but it's time consuming, which is why i have yet to try, I have no time! (regardless of me browsing these forums way too much lol).

i taped off my keyhole and shot it with a couple coats of krylon. just sand it down a bit. interestingly enough, i had to use my keys for the trunk a few times and it hasnt chipped off
im gonan give the antenna top a try.

All my chrome stuff is spray painted. It sticks fine to everything but the trunk keyhole. I have repainted it 3 times after going to a touch free car wash. Its no big deal really. Just get good paints and primers, sand everything and clean it well. Prep is key. You should spend about twice as much time prepping as painting.

I'm just getting rid of the key hole completely. I just got a trunk lid to do the 97-99 conversion and It has to be painted to match my car so my friend is gonna paint it and get rid of the key hole for me all together.

I'm retired Army and I had a small bottle of em nu which we used on the eyelets of our black boots and our pin on rank. I did my keyholes, trunk, wiper blade arms and the antenna top. It lasts about two or three months even though I wash my car every weekend.
