replacing the radiator support

I was in an accident a while back, it wasnt that bad, the radiator support, hood latch, and headlights were pushed in by the bumper of a jeep that got cut off and slammed on the brakes. Anyways, i tried to pull out the bent radiator support myself with a winch and everything lines up pretty good but not perfect and its starting to bother me so i decided that i'm gonna put in a new radiator support and start from scratch on the front end. My question is....Is the radiator support welded onto the frame or bolted? I dont want to start ripping apart my front end only to realize that it is wlded on. thanks

i'd remove the bolts, and use a dremel or sawzall to remove the spot welds, bolt the new one in, and have it welded.

Don't you need some sort of rack to keep the frame aligned when taking it out? I recall having read somewhere that it was necessary to have some sort of special equipment when replacing this.

i'd just use regular jack stands. the engine would be out of the car when i do this, so not much weight would be on the frame anyway.

Agreed. A body shop should do this.
