Anything under the cup holders?

I want to drill a hole in the center of my front cup holder to run a cable for my ipod. Is there anything under there I need to worry about? Alternatively, is the hold cup holder thing easy to remove? I might take it out to drill it. Thanks.

I think you should be able to pull it right up and out of the center console. But nothing is directly beneath them, no...to the left there is some parking brake equipment, but it's basically just open air down there.

I wish I had a 97+ center console...these 95 cupholders just suck.

Yeah you can take it out pretty easy but there is plenty of space below.

Not much under the cup holders. Just pull it straight up and you can see for yourself. Just don't hit any of the ebrake equipment.

I found coins and paperclips under my cupholder. Have no idea how they got there. Shift boot is not ripped... arm-rest box does't have hole. WTF?!

Yeah, for mine, I open the cupholder, and pull up on the cupholder door. Great place for ipod-hiding.

Your car seems to have the same description as mine. You should move to my city so you get pulled over all the time and I can do whatever I do in peace.

You're forgetting the two screw up there after you pop out the shifter bezel...

It's a 98. I guess I'll just yank on them.
